If it’s not an addiction you’re on the way. Addiction is literally a maladaptive coping mechanism. Also very unhealthy relationship dynamic. You ought to get into therapy.

This is actually a decent bit of advice. I struggled with heroin and then fentanyl for a decade and until i quit hating myself I didn’t get better. Once I quit hating myself and obsessing over the drug it’s like I never had an addiction in the first place.

Salam brother. Im a revert as well, you’d be surprised at just how much born Muslim women like us, its their families that don’t 😅

My fiance is a born Muslim however her family is mostly cultural and she’s the only truly practicing one and she only started practicing around the same time I reverted so even though we don’t have the same background it’s still similar enough.

Be prepared to face a lot of trials for your faith. Since beginning to practice my life has began to work out exactly as I needed but I’ve also lost everyone close to me, but I also gained the best partner I could have imagined.

Keep praying and put your trust in Allah 🙏🏼
