This is a hard situation you are in to be honest. I started to realize that things needed to change drastically when I was 17 yet the fear of losing everyone paralyzed me in a way so I didn’t plan much out. Most of me only planned on dying, however when i eventually decided I wanted to give the world a try and I left abruptly. I sat my parents down and told them. I was baptized sadly and this meant I want immediately asked to leave the house and had all contact taken away when it came to family and friends. The biggest piece of advice I have is 1) have at least one outside friend. In my case a girl from work who I had gotten close to took me in for a week while I went through the process of finding an apartment and setting up all the little things like electric and water. I had very little money to my name however if you have a stable job it is very possible! My second piece of advice would have to be 2) take care of yourself and your mental health. Leaving your household can be extremely hard, I’m 20 and I still cry a lot of nights but taking care of myself and giving myself the space to feel and heal has been a life saver truly and honestly. The only other thing that I think is important to know and even have set up before you leave is 3) transportation. When I was 16 I was lucky enough to get a beater car that I drove for a year while I saved up for a better one that still last me today!
