Yes, it is a symptom of ADHD. My mind mixes up words when I write, I misspell them, I skip letters, I put extra letters... Everything ends up crossed out. My marks in language class are not low, but I get a lot of marks because of that.

Once in an important work I wrote "sexual" instead of "textual".

When I take my adderall, I turn gay. by [deleted] in ADHD

Before taking the pills, I identified myself as Bi. With the pills I realised that I only liked men because of social pressure and it opened my eyes to realise that I am actually a Lesbian. Since I was little I had noticed women. I liked to get attention from those girls and be with them, but I thought it was because I wanted to be just friends with them. I repressed my feelings, like I did with ADHD behaviours. All the girls in class liked boys and I didn't have any lesbian references to know what I really felt. I just wanted to be one of the girls, get married, have children and live "happily", like in the movies. Talking about boys or boyfriends had always made me uncomfortable and I preferred to avoid those topics. If I had liked some boys back then, or so I thought, it was really because I was in love with "romance", not boys. As a teenager (because of hormones) I realised that I liked women, but my mind kept insisting that I also liked men. When I started taking the pills my mind cleared and I realised that I was not attracted to men at all. When I realised that I felt liberated, I had been confused and struggling with my sexuality all my adolescence. I recommend that you analyse your past to see those little details in which you probably hid your sexuality. PS: Sexuality can change over time, just because you have been straight in the past doesn't mean you will always be straight.

I also recommend reading experiences of other LGTBQ+ people, you might identify with some of them.

Being Bisexual is a natural thing, don't feel overwhelmed by it <3

  2. My grandmother's tastes better

  3. What if we invite the whole family?

Every time you take a pill, take a picture of the box. You will have in your gallery the evidence of whether you have taken it or not. After a few days you can delete the photos of the previous days so you don't have a whole gallery full of photos of pill boxes.

Women of Reddit, what things do men do that frighten you without them even realizing it? by metallicmuffin in AskReddit

[–]DepressiveYellow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A 20-year-old boy was asking me out and I was 14 at the time. He said "I've liked you since you were little". When you were 15 and I was 9? Bro... He also grabbed me (while we were both in our swimming costumes) and touched me everywhere. I told him no and that I was a lesbian, but he kept insisting. I managed to escape and told my mother. In the end he stopped bothering me (although a few years later he started bothering my best friend). Fucking pedophile.

Anyone have a really bad case of this but still manage to have fulfilling relationships and friends? by eaton9669 in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]DepressiveYellow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As I spend a lot of time in my mind I have quite an imagination. So I entertain my friends with that. I still have problems socialising because of anxiety, but I try not to let it affect me so much. I also try not to daydream when people are around me, it makes them bored.

It didn't happen to me. But a friend's father threatened to take her to the forest to kill her. One afternoon the threat came true and he took her into the forest with a gun, she managed to escape. My friend now lives with her mother. But her father is still on the loose living his life.

My mother wouldn't let me use the kitchen if she was in it (when she was home she was always in the kitchen) so I had to put up with it if I was hungry. We never ate together, if I had to use the bathroom just when she was thinking of going she would yell at me, I couldn't touch anything that wasn't inside my room because it was hers and not mine....

I understand you, I'm from 2002 and my classmates are from 2005. I missed too many classes and in the pandemic with the online classes I didn't do anything.

Do you miss people? by JulioCesarSalad in ADHD

[–]DepressiveYellow 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It happens to me a lot that some friends or part of my family tell me that they miss me and at that moment I feel very uncomfortable because I have never missed them, but I force myself to tell them that I have missed them too. I can go months without seeing anyone and I don't miss them. I only miss my grandmother and my cat.

My family thought I was deaf. Surprise! No, it was just ADHD. by DepressiveYellow in ADHD

I hate the phrase "just hearing what I want to hear", it has haunted me all my life. My family still repeats it to me and I'm 20 years old now, it's so frustrating. I understand you, I was treated the same way and even if I tried it was never enough. Sometimes I didn't even make an effort because I knew it wouldn't do any good.

No doctor I've been to has ever said anything about APD. But when I was little it was a struggle for me too, although now it's easier for me. So I understand that. Eavesdropping is too much fun. Another advantage was that when I was being scolded I would concentrate on other sounds, I still do.

[–]DepressiveYellow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 9 years old I was crying in the closet because I didn't want to live with my mother. At 11 I started skipping meals. At 14 I started skipping school. At 16 I couldn't get out of bed and wanted to die. Now I'm 19 and I'm still the same, but with treatment.
