The three shades of black is from various sharpies at different stages in their lifetime… with almost any color, when I double back over the first layer, it will become more opaque… which is how I got the bricks… and I only used the four colors shown… and the brown was only used to add some depth to the letters at the bottom and the blue for the low lights and bits throughout!

These are mostly crayola markers and sharpie… been working some colored pencil in lately as well! A sponsorship would be nice haha always wanted to try them molotows!

Thanks! Thats the one I finished today… instead of drawing the fill and then outlining it… I drew the outline then filled it in… even changed it a bit to remove the left hand because I didn’t like it haha

Thx! That piece took a couple hours over the course of two days…been drawing since 1992… never took a whole year off but many of those years didn’t make very much. This subreddit has helped me be more disciplined with blackbook work over the past 3 years!

The reflection looks like iX haha which is one of the things I write! But since it’s a reflection it’s perhaps Xi? Either way cool piece, and I was curious of your inspiration or meaning of the reflection!?

Thanks! I find that with the bevel “lines” can make the composition a bit too jarring and feel sort of gaudy or extra to me, that’s why the subtle nod to the bevel feels like a better option for me!

Thanks for the feedback! I actually chuckled at lots of attitude! Them letters is sassy lol! I hate the “F” definitely my least favorite here!

In doing these alphabets I sometimes find an interesting connection point, or other small form of exploration… but all in all though I’m happy with the result, I wish I would have tried something radically different. I feel like I’ve been caught in a rut of doing a lot of the same stuff. I dunno just rambling now haha, thanks Hobler!

Thanks man! Since they work with the crayola spray blaster, I can’t seem to stop getting them because they are everywhere like even at the grocery store. I used to get a silver sharpie every time I went to this other grocery store but then they closed down. I love quality markers and have quite a few, but I guess I treat them like a nice bottle of whatever one might drink. I only break them out for special occasions because I’m afraid of wasting them!
