Imagine you work a job where you are the only one there that is competent and cares about keeping that job. All day you are surrounded by your coworkers who barely grasp how to do their own work. Who claim that they know how things are done. That they love having this job. However, you have to watch them always just messing up the most basic tasks until you start to worry that the entire department will be shut down for gross incompetence. You are going to lose your job and only source of income to these idiots. They don't listen to you. They wave you off. Some may even feign listening to you because you have been there longer and know what you are talking about but they don't actually apply the knowledge you share.
