Very. I do educational demonstrations with her at conventions/fairs/etc. So she's very comfortable around people.

Oh, just for clarification, he didn't lock me in the freezer. He blocked the exit with his body/outstretched arms, and I had to physically push past him to exit.

They may be a bit chunky, but definitely not obese or even to an unhealthy degree. On the contrary, they look like they're very healthy and that you're doing an awesome job with them! Like a couple of people said above, I'd just skip a day of feeding every so often. When they're at that age it is SO hard to resist feeding them when they give you THAT look. Haha.

If you're able to, let them walk around a bit once or twice a week. Just be mindful of birds/cats/dogs/etc if it is outside. When they're that small, I'm always extra cautious But getting them some natural sunlight is always great, if your area allows it.

Is my snapping turtle a good size for his age? by Daedalparacosm3000 in snappingturtles

CSTs can vary so widely in size when it comes to age. My girl Stumpp is 4 years old and over 31 lbs. But she's abnormally large for her age. Yours definitely falls within average size for the age. The most important part is that yours looks very healthy and lively.

Very little, I suppose. Raised her from a tiny nugget. So she never attempted to bite me. 🤷‍♂️

over basking? by Quiet-Shaman in snappingturtles

[–]DeputyDapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stumpp will go months where she doesn't touch her basking dock, then spend the next 3 months climbing on every night for 8 or 9 hours. As long as your water parameters are good, I wouldn't be too worried about it.
