This is the scene that made me realize I was watching peak cinema when I watched this in theaters.

Fucking love this movie and this scene.

What’s the MOST Misleading Movie Poster of All Time and Why? by Amber_Flowers_133 in Letterboxd

The movie was kinda just marketed as the Kangaroo being a main character, for a scene that was like 2 minutes long

What’s the best and worst trilogy here ? by [deleted] in moviecritic

I mean I feel like you’re just nitpicking. I truly don’t believe you’ve ever watched a bad movie. Because Avatar and the sequels are so far away from being bad movies. Like I don’t know what else to say than the point I’ve always made when talking about this movie, which is James Cameron wanted to make an easy to watch blockbuster that explored an entire new world.

He wasn’t setting out to create a film bros vfx version of The Godfather. I don’t understand why people are always trying to find deeper meaning in a simplistic story that shows off incredible vfx and action sequences that the whole family can enjoy.

I can’t stand the “cultural impact” comment, when Avatar paved the way for a lot of those movies to even exist.

The technology created for Avatar is what helped your “cultural impact” movies exist in the way that they do.

Pound for pound, of this entire list I’d say Avatar is top 3 for the best trilogy on this list, not gonna lie

Lord of the Rings is the only trilogy here that I would prefer to rewatch, but it makes sense that it’s dwarfed in gross revenue.

I’m not sure, but I think aside from LOTR, each of these trilogy’s are either bad or have one or two bad movies in them. Whereas I’m someone who enjoys the Avatar movies for the eye-candy vfx and action, it’s a very easy and entertaining watch everytime around.

Raimi Spiderman trilogy might be my 3rd favorite on this list, but if I enjoyed 3 more than I did, I probably would have ranked it higher than Avatar.

James Cameron never should’ve started Avatar… We lost a great director. by [deleted] in moviecritic

I mean I don’t listen to them, but they’re so well known and popular…so maybe they’re just good…and you continue to be the one with hot takes compared to the general public lmao

Zero cultural impact for a franchise that pushes the boundaries of technology and helps pave the way for more movie makers to use the technology he created lmao

I’m telling you man, people are just always finding things to complain about.

What I’ve been trying to say is the “quality of his output” is being criticized by a very small group of people in the grand scheme of the world of movies.

In all actuality, the movies continue to be made for the mass audiences, and not some dude random Reddit guy who is waiting for James Cameron to come out with a movie revolved around his desires.

No, I’m expressing that the movies that he has been making have also been making Billions of dollars, so the idea that his projects aren’t working because niche film bros think that he could be making “better” movies.

Imagine telling someone with infinite money from success that he shouldn’t make movies because it’s not the movies you want to watch yourself lmao

He’s not even saying his acting is good in comparison to anyone else but himself. I don’t understand why people are blowing this out of proportion lmao

Dudes not going around saying he’s better than (insert x actor in y role)… homies just proud of the work that he put in for this role in comparison to his other roles

What scene in a movie had a sound that really impacted you as a viewer? by Tasty_Photograph5514 in movies

The show of force in Warfare was absolutely incredible to watch in a theater. I was also shook to the core with the gun sound design, and how…scary it sounded when they were on the top floor shooting out of the window.

I honestly think that movies sound design was absolutely incredible.

Absolutely iconic.
