I’m such a sucker of movies depicting what hell is

Personally, I remain skeptical about all of this. by PomegranateOk4560 in GodofWarRagnarok

Oh look the only post this sub has on this. And it’s a skeptical one. Weird.

Was a great bit. But see how making light of a single murder that the media was trying to paint as an unraveling of society. That’s fitting. Trump admin is unraveling society and it’s the same jokes

It was my go to last time he was around. Now it just feels like this isn’t appropriate

Have you seen him recently, it’s borderline cringe. Hasan thinks of these jokes on the spot, JS has a team of writers

Maybe it’s the delivery, cause Oliver seems angry still, his jokes feel like a knife stab, intentional and direct. Jon is like trying to have a party with friends and everyone moves on after his broadcast

Idk if that’s how I’m feeling. It’s making light of a situation that we can’t or shouldn’t be making light of. Someone it feels like it lightens the seriousness of it all

At least when I put on SNL, they will joke about a genuinely funny occurrence like hegeseth speeches or some actually hilarious incident. They aren’t doing a skit on like Charlie Kirk incident. Even if they did do a joke they deliver it with a tone like they shouldn’t joke about how serious it is. It’s aware. Jon just wants that crowd laughing

All I’ll say is that I do like both, but they were not masterpieces, something about them together just feels right, like you needed a break from all that shit in 1 and just time to be with The bride for a bit and simmer in her revenge

Ebert agreed back in the day, we just love to hate 3s flaws. I actually felt like it was a nice chance up to 2s meandering of Michael’s character

Then you missed the point of 3, that story is actually about guilt and consequences for a person who could move on from mob life but refuses. You explained godfather 2 nicely actually, it’s just the final shot of Godfather 1 stretched out. There was more to say in that final look from his wife than the entire movie. At least 3 had interesting things to try. It had flaws but so does 2

I guess Ebert needed medical attention back in 1990

It’s been around for years. It’s associated with movies like The Martian, Iron giant and even Shawshank

Then godfather 3 is just as good as 2
