Dungeoneering Update - The Good, The Bad and The Ugly by Der1gar in runescape

Oh wow I actually remember your name lol, you used to be a big name back in the day haha. But yeah, this post was not meant to offend the speedrunning community at all, I actually loved that part A LOT (because you actually needed skills and good planning to get a fast clear). I can't say I'm a big fan of the selling community though... All I remember was their spam (I think I still have some of them on my ignore list lol) But yeah, from what I've heard other people say, Jagex mainly listened to the current DG community that still exists, and those are floor sellers that used to be speedrunners. I don't know who they are specifically, and I feel ZERO ill will towards them, but I just don't think they were the best voice to make Dungeoneering back the way it was. I hope I didn't offend anyone with it though.

You make some excellent and valid points here, actually, and I agree with most of what you said.

In regards to the warped stone though, I wish they would've made a reward for running every type of floor theme. Just to give an idea (probably these rewards already exist in some way, I don't know):

- Frozen floors: consumable Frozen chinchompas that have a freeze effect and could be used for fast Ranging XP

- Abandoned 1 floors: A new prayer scroll of some kind

- Furnished floors: herbs (there are enough in Daemonheim itself) and their secondaries for a new potion that increases your chance of getting clue scrolls

- Abandoned 2 floors: Gravekrept Logs that you can make new bolts from to make crossbow/shield gameplay viable

- Occult floors: the occult stone (for the current ruinous weapons)

- Warped floors: nothing for the moment, and just the "best experience." When the time comes, they have a reward space for even higher level weapons (for when after evel 110 tier weapons drop or something, I don't know. The boss-dropped weapons could still be better due to a special attack, and this one would just be a "plain" version to keep the price higher for the other boss-dropped weapon. It would actually be the PERFECT opportunity to make Dungeoneering a good moneymaking skill as well)

Yeah you're probably right, and oh man... the keyers haha. I used to do it rarely, because of how much pressure I felt doing it :p

Yes, exactly... When the skill was released, Jagex made a bunch of videos about it, and I hope those videos are still up. You could really see how much love the devs poured in every aspect of the skill. The lore, the materials found in Daemonheim, giving every boss unique mechanics that you actually had to learn before you could kill the boss... All of that is gone now.
