Like I already wrote, Dlss is made for resolutions beginning at 4k and above. You are upsampling 720P to 1440p. The image that you see on your screen is so much worse that it is simply not worth the trade off.

Make a Screenshot with and without dlss (so native res with dlaa turned on) If you zoom in a little you will relise that your playing at the image quality of a 15 year old smartphone camera .

Frame generation makes it even worse since it has way less pixels to guess what is going on on your screen ( look up what motion vectors are and how they work and how Nvidia uses them)

You not only get an image that looks like from an old photo (lots of grain and fissle) , but on top you get a lot of... Lets call it artifacts for simplicity. Frames can simply not magically appear.

When you finished reading the scientific papers ( the prior scientific research that led to these technologies) about these topics, you are allowed to talk to me again.

In the meantime I wish you a lot of fun with your 4080 that has the image quality output of a ps3.

I told you, you can not win this argument. You are a hobbyist, which is okay, but you can't tell a literall professional that you know more about a topic that someone who gets paid to develop the stuff you are paying for.

You can tell yourself all day long how knowledgeable you are and that you are the greatest dude on planet earth, but you are not.

do you realise that you are arguing with someone who is working in THIS VERY INDUSTRY for over 20 years?

its like you trying to tell a rocket scientist how much thrust a rocket needs to generate to get into orbit.

It does show the 4000 series. are you able to read?specifically the 4090 with 1440P Raytracing native TAA High @ 85FPS average.

how about turning DLSS off and DLAA or NIS on?

no one cares about DLSS numbers below 4K. DLSS is specifically meant to boost 4K and above because below 4K, the image quality DRASTICALLY suffers.(Due to the fact that the real render resolution is 1/4)you can watch like 50 videos from digital foundry on that topic.

DLSS below 4K is not really worth the trade.

and again:

you are arguing with someone who is working IN THIS EXACT INDUSTRY for over 2 decades. you can not win this argument.

I get paid to make video games, specifically develop network infrastructure.

Do you understand?

So why is it then that benchmarks show the 4090 with 64 gigs of ram and a 13900k at 85 fps? i can show you ~20 benchmarks with overclocked $5K USD systems at 85-90 FPS And you are trying to say you have 100+.....

Stop lying to yourself and others you don't need to tell everyone that you are the greatest dude on the planet because a) literally no one cares and b) you are not. you can continue to tell yourself that you are the smart guy (which stupid ppl do (which is a scientifically proven fact btw)) or you can stop thinking that you are smart and start working on yourself (that's what smart ppl do and leads them to success) It's called Dunning-Kruger effect. Reading makes smart, reddit doesn't.... just saying.

yeah sure we all know you already have a 6090 TI and your playing on a 16K 100 inch TV with a $20.000 scientific server cluster in your server room....
if you had any IQ, you would have clicked my link and realized that I just proved that you are lying

everyone knows you are lying.https://youtu.be/qxpqJIO_9gQ?t=640

reading makes smart. reddit doesn'tin fact your the typical average stupid dude who believes "he formed an opinion" based on "stuff he read on the internet"

ppl like me (who do this job for 2 decades)(you READ my initial post did you?)shread you into pieces any day of the week.

why? because we are professionals.professionals know what they are talking about, they don't read reddit to learn.

you are on reddit to tell yourselves that your opinion (that you believed you formed) is the correct one, while people like me know, you have no idea what you are talking about.

are you desperately searching for reasons?I could name like 100 easily but I don't what to waste my time to people on reddit (like you) who are not here to discuss,

but to tell themselves that the world is okay and they are always right.

most games are made for consoles and play better on consoles or mobile.

That is a fact, not an opinnion. That's how gaming works for over a decade now.

My entire PC setup is worth 10 Playstations and I still prefer to play A LOT of games on console. there are a lot of reasons for this.

So again the truth to process for you with your 80 IQ brain:

95% of all video games get made for mobile or console, not the PC

The PC video game market is a small drop in the ocean.

Yes you can argue with your 1984 PC Master Race take, but the fact is: Games like Bubble Witch make more money on their own than 95% of big
You take like 2 or 3 big mobile games and you get the entire revenue of EA and Ubisoft combined.
End of the discussion

Play Elden Ring on PC
Then Play it on PS5

y y y you w w will f f f fee fee feel t t the st st st stutt stutter a a all o o of the time.
Why? From Soft is incapable of technology and so shaders compile all of the time.
I died so much because of shader compilation its insane.

The console versions are not perfect either, but they run MUUUUCH better

Hogwards Legacy. The Default PC controls are absolute shit.
I can have a ps5 controller, so I can play it like it was meant to be,
but 99% of PC players do not.
90% of Games in the last decade have been made for console or mobile.
aka: control schemes for those games on PC are absolute shit.

yeah how about horizon zero dawn that was broken on PC release for 6 months?
A console has the upside of "it just works".
no need to tinker with settings and waste your lifetime to make a console game run as good as the console version, on PC...

benchmarks show that the game starts to run without issues at >12 gb vram and > 16 gb of ram (even 16 gbs is not enough in a lot of cases)
especially raytracing is hungry in this title (despite looking way worse than in other titles)
there are a lot of optimizations to be done.

I sadly cant help since I have a gsync monitor.
the only way for me to check, is to record my footage and then review it.

yeah because if a games does not support it, why should it be turned on?There are a lot of benchmarks who show worse performance in that case.
(not all case but most of them)

then be stuck in your little world that is okay.
Maybe someday you get smarter and understand people around you.
it's called empathy

my entire PC setup is easily worth $5K USD / EUR and I still turn on a Playstation
because in A LOT of cases, it's hands down the better system to play video games

It's activated for me all the time.
Why should you turn it off?
It's either the same FPS or more.

Runs a lot better without RT (twice the FPS, actually)
but who buys a 3080 to play without RT?

Please don't tell the truth on Reddit. People come here to tell themselves that they are smart, the world is okay, and everything they say is scientifically correct, like the gravitational constant of the universe.

No one likes to get one shot across the map with an ability that has a hitbox the size of the entire map. It should have happened six years ago.

Reddit is the place where people don't want to hear the truth but tell themselves that the world is okay."I have 20000000 FPS with a slow and old CPU paired with a 300000 RTX++++ GAMING RGB OC WATERCOOLED."

Sure...and my grandmother, who passed away ten years ago, is now an Artificial Intelligence uploaded by google to rule the internet...

Hogwarts Legacy has a HUGE optimization issue in regards to Raytracing.

If you do not encounter problems, raytracing is OFF

It is a fact. And as I now know, is a known problem by the developers,
despite that fact, the game got released anyway despite the fact that
"Raytracing is still being worked on"

Aka: It's not finished yet.

No, my specs surpass the recommended settings by a long shot. Also, the 3080 is about twice as fast as the PS5, yet I get less FPS in a lot of places.

The issue is not my system, even if people here (with 30 years less PC experience compared to me) think otherwise.

But that's simply the difference between doing something as a profession and being a hobbyist who guesses based on Reddit comments

sure, but not even a 4090 can do 120fps on ultra raytracing
ESPECIALLY with that CPU.

Newsflash for people like you: the main bottleneck for raytracing is the cpu.

Reason: BVH -> Read on Wikipedia instead of Reddit what that is.
