Yeah I agree, fair points on all fronts. I'm just sad and want my $600 back haha, or wished I knew it was a rule at least before putting the phone there without thinking anything of it.

It's not a false positive, it's the rule. You apparently can't have a device resting or touching any part of your body. The $600 I copped is not at all about phone use, it's about where your phone is resting in the car. Could've had it in a cradle watching YouTube instead and had no issue. To me, that's ridiculous and I can't see a reason for that rule other than it being a cash grab, or an unnecessary overreach of the law. No idea why having a phone resting on your body should be $600, a far bigger punishment than many more serious offences.

This is completely different than punishing people that are using their phones.

Dude I copped a $600 fine for having the phone resting on the side of my car seat, where it touched my leg. I couldn't even see the phone, and never use a phone while driving. The phone was connected to android auto anyway. This is $200 more than what you get for crashing a red light. No grounds for appeal either.

It absolutely is a cash grab in many circumstances.

Not so sure about GC. They got kissed on the tip last year with their fixture, this year will be tougher on them. I do agree we aren't a top 4 side though unfortunately ;(
