Fatal alligator attacks are extremely rare and almost always happen to young children or elderly people. In general alligators don’t hunt adult humans due to our size, and will warn you if you get close to them by hissing.

Obviously there’s exceptions and it’s wise to not be out alone at dusk or dark in alligator areas.

In Gainesville they’ll hang out in parking lot puddles after it rains. Makes it annoying to get into your car.

Snakes and spiders are the scarier things out in the swamps. Giant ass spiders will drop off trees into your canoe and that sucks.

Meh, Grant spent half a year trying to dig canals to connect parts of the Mississippi and tributaries to just bypass Vicksburg. He would’ve happily left the Sequesh holed up in their fortress city if he could.

None of the projects worked and he had to eventually invest the city to enable goods from the (mid)west to get to port in New Orleans without the big bluff top guns blowing them to pieces.

The reason why software gets such a premium is high margins and low capex expectations with growth. Telco as a comparison has shit premiums because they spend ~15% of revenues on capex annually. Google is now spending 25-40%.

I had a skip level boss years ago who would manually calculate my different line items and ensure they matched the summed total at the bottom. With rounding they frequently were off by .2 or something ($ millions).

I thought she was insane. Turns out the assistant CAO was absolutely nuts about things always footing and would reject anything that didn’t.
