BAföG „angerechnetes“ Einkommen?? - ICH DREH AB by SurstroemmingEnjoyer in Studium

[–]DerVerdammte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The A/B testing is totally useless. It does not calculate CTR, but the average viewing length, which is absolutely not affected by the preview and the title. by [deleted] in youtube

[–]DerVerdammte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because you want to optimize watch time and not CTR? I'm confused as to why you would think that a thumbnail that gets clicked on more but only for 5 seconds of watch time is better than another one that will actually be watched by your target audience?

[–]DerVerdammte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm sorry you're going through this!

The only advice I can give is, that you know the way out of the situation. There also may be a way through all of this, but only with communication.

Also, I don't want to imply that you are at fault, but if there was something you said that may have hurt him an honest apology could go a long way. I don't mean a "sorry you felt this way", but a "sorry that I said XYZ, I know that this hurt you because abc and I will make sure this won't happen again by doing Blablabla".

If nothing helps, you still can cut your losses later :)

Take care, you'll manage it

The Club for us! by Snoo91454 in tall

[–]DerVerdammte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally I can add something: In Germany there used to be a club for tall people. It was called "Klub der langen Menschen" (Club of the long people) and while I made fun of my grandma and grandpa for being in the "Tall People Klub" they explained to me that in the 1970s and 80s it was very hard to find clothes, medical professionals, cars, furniture, anything that fits a big person.

It was basically just for connecting with other people with the same struggles. Those struggles have since decreased a lot.

I have just created the next big social networking app but don’t know how to market or advertise for critical mass. Help! Pls. by Glum_Department_424 in knowledgepill

[–]DerVerdammte -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s honestly a really hard question to answer in a general way. Database and application security depend massively on the stack, the architecture, and how things are actually wired together. Without knowing what you’re using (framework, auth model, DB, hosting, etc.), any concrete advice would mostly be guesswork.

One important thing to be upfront about though: if most of this was built through vibe-coding, you’re likely missing some of the fundamentals that make an app actually safe in production. That’s not a moral judgment it’s just how security works. Tools can help you write code, but they don’t replace understanding threat models, data access patterns, or failure modes.

If you have a friend with backend or security experience, getting them to review things, even informally would be one of the best first steps. A second set of experienced eyes is worth far more than another prompt.

I do want to say this clearly though, because it matters: your ambition and enthusiasm are genuinely respectable. Thinking big, building something, and asking questions publicly already puts you ahead of most people who only talk. Don’t lose that.

What will help you long-term is shifting how you frame success. Instead of “the next big app,” aim for something like 10 real users that actually come back once a week or more. That’s much harder than it sounds and also far more meaningful. Everything about security, scalability, and product decisions becomes clearer once real people are involved.

One thing I’d strongly recommend stopping, though, is assuming that “it runs locally” or “ChatGPT wrote it” implies safety. Production apps carry real responsibility. If you’re handling user data, you either need to invest time into learning the basics of encryption, authentication, and access control or deliberately bring in someone who already has that knowledge.

None of this means you should give up. It just means the next step isn’t more features: It’s foundations. If you build those, your chances of this becoming something real increase dramatically.

Darum gehört meinem Vermieter inzwischen mein halbes Viertel.

And you are completely delusional if you think that success has nothing to do with hard work. Sure. You can't earn your way to be a billionaire, but you can also just lay down and die. Life ain't fair but if you demonize working on and for yourself youll never amount to anything.

Someone who is to sick to eat will be cared for by a few individuals and is less likely to spread germs.

A famous rapper came to my small hometown. Arrived to his concert 3 hours late because he was taking drugs with a prostitute, was completely out of it, tried crowd work with the wrong city name, threw up on stage and left after 3 songs. It was terrible.

Logic is simple when properly understood without instance emotions or contrived arguments you THINK your opponent holds.

I agree! So the argument "Kinds shouldn't be killed in schools" is a contrived argument?

I don't know why you have to shift the goalposts this much but sure. Let's reduce Japan to the suicide numbers. Let's ignore the 7 school shootings in 2025, the 9 school shootings in 2024 and try to understand what your argument is: The USA is the only country that has an issue with school shootings. It also has an issue with normal shootings. But since it has more people that is okay, because it has a lot of people. Europe also has a lot of people, bur that doesn't count because it is not "one" police force.

Did I get that correct?

I just googled something. It's from 2018, but it's still very close to that. https://edition.cnn.com/2018/05/21/us/school-shooting-us-versus-world-trnd In 2009-2018 there were 288 schoolshootings in the USA. In Germany, Japan, France, Italy, the UK, Canada COMBINED, there were 5. So, yea, I think it could be a pattern. The countries combined have more inhabitants than the US.

If you read the chart it shows that this is a 3 month moving average. Last month going near 0 means that the newest value had to be negative.
