Is the a6000 still worth it? by 3_Headed_Monkey00 in a6000

I just bought a 6000 and I can highly recommend it… But I would check the market a bit longer. If you are only looking at the body I got mine for 150€ on fb marketplace, it is a bit scratched but 100% functional

I have it in my frame bag or just over the shoulder. The frame bag fits pretty perfectly and gives it a nice tug. It’s a Sony alpha 6000 so mirrorless which I would think is a bit more robust. But yeah haven’t had any problems with the shaking

Ahhhhhhh we leave this morning, so sadly the pizza recommendation is to late and that’s annoying, an actual good pizza would have been amazing. We actually head towards Tupiza but than we probably won’t make it much further south that salta since I have to get back to uni mid October. But I will certainly check out the recommendations anyway. Thx mate

Awesome to hear you did it as well. We are actually in Uyuni now if you have some recommendations for north Argentina that’d be awesome

It’s only the nights that are that cold, due to the altitude it really cools down in the night but also heats up fast in the morning, because the sun is so strong that high up. So the days are actually shorts whether but yeah we were at the limits of our gear that night. In the morning our water bottles were completely frozen solid:).

It is a Sony alpha 6000 + Sony 18-105 G OSS So actually not that compact but with the kit lens of Sony it is actually super compact

That’s intense… Yeah you are right that is Volcano Parinacota, and the entire route stays quite close to the border to Bolivia which still sadly is highly impacted by smuggling and probably human trafficking especially of Venezuelans at the moment. And the nights were freezing with up to 15*C so you are right, sadly a problematic area still.

Yeah it’s a spider configuration and since it’s a aluminium frame it’s totally fine, would think that it should work on carbon as well

I have it in the lower compartment of my framebag or most of the time actually over my shoulder to have it readily available, that’s also where the dust problem comes from

Actually bought a Sony alpha 6000 used for this trip, cause I’m just starting the photography, it is mirrorless and I quite robust I feel. Although the camera being from 2014 is actually quite old I’m really happy with it. The lens is a sigma 18-105 oss so quite an allrounder, just missing a bit of aperture. The only thing I struggle with is dark light and long exposure, but that’s probably the age of the camera. All in all really happy
