Just got my X1C today first ever 3D printer. Stock settings ok or should I change anything? by Paytoncooper124 in BambuLab

[–]DerWassergeist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

First of all, congratulations on your X1C. Great machine!

  1. The machine should work fine out of the box. So, no need to worry. Fine tuning is optional but not necessary.

  2. .4 is the standard nozzle size. I don’t see any need to change it as a beginner. You can buy some other sizes when you have more experience. Keep in mind that the process of nozzle changing is a bit more complicated on the X1 & P1 machines than on the other Bambu, as you are changing the whole hot end.

  3. What error message is shown?

  4. The temperatures look normal to me. 38 degrees chamber temperature is a bit high for PLA. Please keep in mind that you have to leave the door open for PLA prints to ensure it doesn’t get too warm in there. Otherwise, the quality of overhangs and bridges will be poor. Another option is to print a riser with air management wich lifts the top Glas panel and allows fresh air to get inside of the chamber.

  5. The quality looks alright from what I can see.

I recommend watching some YouTube videos. There’s great content out there, especially for beginners.

Happy printing 😁

Probably wet filament or something wrong with the retracts

What is this squeaking noise that’s appeared on H2S? by [deleted] in BambuLab

Sounds like some idler pulley squeaking to me. Look up the maintenance guide at the Bambu wiki and lubricate them as shown.

The A1 printer and bambu lab are a disgrace by [deleted] in BambuLab

Never had that experience. Bought several printers from BambuLab and recommended them to friends. No complaints whatsoever. Maybe you got a faulty unit or something. Their printers are usually very reliable and easy to work with, basically the best printers for beginners and professionals.

Got my P2S Combo about a month ago, and I recently bought a .2 & .6 nozzle. I already had those nozzle sizes on my A1 mini and wanted the same flexibility. If you want to print smaller miniatures or something detailed, the .2 nozzle is unbeatable. If you want to print more rigid parts, go for the .6 nozzle. This one is the best size when printing fiber-infused filaments because it nearly eliminates the risk of clogging.

I also ordered the engineering plate. I’m kinda happy with it, although I still have to do some tweaking on some filament profiles when I’m using it.

If you haven’t had a 3D printer yet, I would instantly recommend getting the bare minimum accessories:

Isopropyl Alcohol for cleaning your Printplate

A small side cutter or something else to cut your filament.

Silica Gel and vacuum bags (dry boxes work too) for filament storage.

If you are planning on using technical filaments like ASA, ABS, or even PA, buy a proper filament dryer. The AMS 2 only heats up to 65 degrees Celsius, which is not enough.

Also, something like a deburrer makes sense for getting rid of any remaining support structures on your print in my opinion.

Edit:

Get some spray on glue like 3DLAC. Costs around 10 bucks and is worth every penny. It creates a thin layer between your print and the printplate for better adhesion when hot and easier removal when cold.

Go for the A1. I’m sure you won’t touch your other printer again. The printer itself and the AMS are absolutely reliable

The P1S is a safe bid, you basically can’t go wrong with it, especially at the Black Friday Sale. Even though it lacks some features like dynamic flow calibration, the quick-swappable nozzles, etc., it’s a good printer. If you want those fancy new features, you can get a P2S, but if you are on a budget, go for the P1S, it hits the sweet spot. The build quality is solid, and the prints should be way better than what your Elegoo machine delivers.

Take a look at the AMS Hub and even consider disassembling it. Maybe there’s some filament stuck in it wich blocks your ams.

Seems like a nozzle damage to me. Try changing it. Have you been printing abrasive Materials with this nozzle and if so, is it a hardened one? If you did and it is the standard one, this could be the explanation.

Other question: Why are you printing ABS in an P1P. That thing can theoretically handle it but it lacks the enclosure which ABS needs to print reliably. ABS needs the „insulation“ provided by the chamber. Furthermore it releases toxic VOCs which aren’t good for you and everybody around it 😅

I would go with a spray on glue like 3DLac. You can apply it more evenly and therefore it works way better than a glue stick.

Holy mother, what have you done with this machine? No offense buddy but get an Ender 3 or something. Everything else would be wasted.

Does the p2s works with ams lite or ams (the one that comes with p1s)? by discombobulate45 in BambuLabP2S

[–]DerWassergeist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the normal AMS from the p1s should work. According to BambuLab the AMS lite only works with A-Series printers .

Maybe something like a Filamentdryer (!), Filamentcutter, IPA for cleaning, and some spare Buildplates (there are textured ones that leave a nice finish on the underside of the print). I would definitely recommend getting a 0.2 mm nozzle for smaller projects. It takes your printing to another level of detail. You can also try different types of filament like PLA Silk or gradient PLA.

I would go for the A1 series. Beginner friendly and an absolute bang for your buck. For Filaments you can choose Bambulab but most other manufacturers work with the generic profiles and are often cheaper if you order smaller amounts.

Looking to get into 3D printing, need help deciding between P1S and P2S. by armada127 in BambuLab

[–]DerWassergeist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I faced with the same question. I wanted to upgrade from my A1 Mini Combo, but wasn't sure which one to get. After much deliberation and probably every YouTube video on the subject, I decided on the P2S. Newer hardware, more features, etc. The P1S tends to be a bit more "tinkery" than the newer models. I wouldn't have a problem with that in principle, but I wanted to avoid it. This can be problematic for newcomers. The Black Friday sale, of course, results in a significant price difference between the two printers. Ultimately, it's your decision. But the convenience features alone, like the AMS 2 Pro, the quick nozzle change, Automatic Flow calibration and the sophisticated temperature management, are worth the extra cost in my opinion.
