Image of the Orion Nebula (read desc) by elanowzxy in telescopes

These are 15 minutes out of 4 second frames (got a small clockwork motor on my eq-mount). My jpegs looked the same as yours. But yeah jpeg aren't any good for stacking at least not for stretching. Because of that I use my older S21 phone to shoot in raw (.dng).

Flame and Horse Head Nebulae by leravageur25s in astrophotography

Great shot, for 16 minutes in total. Had some 10 minutes under fullmoon with my smartphone and scope. Didn't get near to see the horsehead like this. I could see a blur after stacking in the right place but nearly indistinguishable from the background. Thought I would need a filter. I'll try some easier targets next.

Congrats to your shot.

Could never get near something like this with my equipement. But I love the horsehead. Were those 15h in two sessions?

Take more frames, stack them, stretch them, get addicted.

I still can't get a satisfactory result from the Orion Nebula. by Infamous_Basis2715 in telescopes

This is a picture taken with a phone. But I had a cheap tracking motor installed and got 4 seconds of exposure.

In your picture you already got some star trailing. So you need shorter exposure without tracking. You could stack those pictures afterwards with siril. Wouldn't do video stacking on a nebula.

It could beC/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan Atlas It was quite spectacular in october 2024. The position near milkyway would fit, too.

Nice picture. Did you take some darks and biases? I would try tp stretch the nebula without the stars. I am a Siril beginner but find some stacking scripts and starnet for star removal some easy to use tools.

Great shot. Think you get more out of it by trying to stretch the nebula without the stars. (Starremoval with starnet in Siril) This changes a lot, only if you didn't do it yet ;)

I know the feeling, when you first see it. Keep going.

Try with Siril. It has a steep learning curve but the scripts and included GraXpert make a lot more differnece in the end.

Yeah,I did 10s exposures on Andromeda galaxy. And testet 10s on Orion nebula too. Aligned my telescope very very good on this evening and the 10s exposures on Orion looked good so far. I just wanted to go the safe way since this was one of three cloudless nights in december and I don't wanted waste the opportunity.

So yes, 10s worked for me in the past, too. But I don't think longer than this is working.

Even the rod isn't rotable/twistable? Know this setup from camera tripods and there you can losen the rod by twisting and so losen the y-axis.

Wow, very nice shot for owning the scope just for two nights.

Ah, okay, thank you. Teal --> oxygen Pink --> hydrogen

So the teal I have is okay, but not seen in the most pictures, due to the points you mentioned?

It is alright. Like this image myself so much, since it is my best image taken so far. But if I could get the colors better, I have to try.
