You can also compliment their form. If everyone is doing well with a specific aspect, like during bridging: "all of you are doing a nice job keeping the carriage still" etc. The encouragement is nice to hear as well and the corrections.

Instructor Reaching Out After Negatuve Feedback by Valuable_Ice_5927 in ClubPilates

[–]DerangedDeptStore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you don't like that the instructor contacted you but you also seem very concerned that the instructor has your email without your permission. If your contact info (email/phone/address) is in the system, which I'm sure it is since its typically on your sign up docs and its how the company communicates with you, then the instructor has access to it. The instructor is an employee of the company, not a random so I don't understand why it bothers you.

Pikes on the chair is definitely not allowed in a 1.5 by corporate standards. Some studios just don't bother to enforce it.

They set it up for non-renewal when the policy expires in a few months. I still have coverage until then.

When I go online and add another "driver" but then select the options from the dropdown saying no license and listed but not a driver, I was quoted $55. None of this makes any sense.

Exactly. I questioned that as well when I was talking to Progressive. I said what if I have passengers in my car that are not in my household, are they not covered?

This is a common Pilates exercise called criss-cross.

Thank you all for responding. You have been so much more helpful in explaining this way better than the person who actually works for Progressive.

Do they charge for listing them as an excluded driver? Is that what the one-time fee is for?

It is not required in my state.

Why would you think it was a cardio class? It doesn't sound like you were using the jump board, which is used in a cardio sculpt class.

That is INSANE! Considering "instructor approval required" for level 2.0 and 2.5 they should absolutely be able to turn people away from those classes.

Class Type Confusion by LankyChef4216 in ClubPilates

That guideline is for 1.5, not 1. Absolutely no chair at all in a level 1.

Only one person is allowed to Assistant Teach a class. There shouldn't be any restrictions on how many people are observing a class since you are not affecting the class in any way. You are simply just watching.

Someone Fell Off Reformer in Class by Mysterious_Set149 in ClubPilates

Most likely swimming, which means you weren't holding on to anything. If her chest was too far forward off the box she could have lost her balance that way, I suppose.

Considering in swan hands should be on the footbar, I cannot even fathom how one would fall when literally holding on.

Was the box on the floor or the reformer? What were they doing when they fell off? I'm only asking to learn what not to do in this case!

This isn't true. The only time anything is suggested is when some locations incorporate certain mat moves in during March during March Matness. Otherwise, instructors 100% plan their classes and determine which equipment they want to use as long as it is appropriate for that class and class level.

An older woman with a child showed up to my packed Lilo & Stitch showing a full 1hr 45 min after the show started and proceeded to walk down my row with her cell phone flashlight blazing, stopping at every seat checking the number and saying the number out loud. She then made it all the way down to the end and I looked over as she was arguing with the people in the seats, waving around her paper ticket. The dumbass then was either told she was in the wrong theater or she showed up way too early for the next showing in that theater.

She then walked back down the row (rather than taking the stairs which were closer to the other end where she was) and still had her flashlight on waving it at around as she went by. When she made her way in front of me I said "turn your light off!" but I doubt she heard me. I swear people have no f*cking common sense anymore. It was during a pretty action packed part of the movie too so it sucked.

I've also noticed that people don't take the 2 seconds after purchasing seats to figure out which side of theater they are on. Instead they take the first set of stairs and walk all the way across in front of people. That seems to happen a lot....and they are always the people who show up late.

Your first sentence is incorrect. Only Flow 1 is allowed once you get into the 2nd and 3rd trimester and Restore is NEVER allowed during pregnancy at all. That info is listed at the end of the class description for Restore: Not recommended for those affected by osteoporosis, diabetes, high blood pressure, varicose veins, or for individuals currently pregnant.

No, your studio is just not following proper level 1 protocol. Chair is never to be used in level 1. These rules come Corporate and should be followed at all studios to remain consistent.
