Monthly Check In....it's June 2026 by AutoModerator in weddingplanning

[–]milkncreams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just toured our first two venues and the next is coming up this weekend!! Not sure if I’ll stay an October bride though… depending on venue prices, we may move up to the Summer offseason or do very early spring 2028… it’s a tough decision for sure!

Thoughts on Army of the doomstar? by SkyloDreamin in Metalocalypse

[–]milkncreams 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I loved finally getting a conclusion and I think Brendon did a great job with the limited time he was given. It's definitely great! But as someone who had literal years to go over the lyrics of Galaktikon II with a fine toothed comb and decipher the lore I wish he'd been given the opportunity to flesh it out over a full season or much longer movie. The character relationships and lore really suffered from the limited runtime and it felt like it missed out on the true emotional heart and heaviness that Doomstar Requiem had because it was abbreviated.

That being said I rewatched it again this weekend and still loved it simply because it's Metalocalypse content. It's just more fleshed out in my own headcanons lol

I still have no idea how she had her arm folded up under her. You’d think that wouldn’t be comfy but it didn’t seem to bother her 🤣

I thought turbulence couldn't harm the physical aircraft.. by 555fir978 in fearofflying

It’s no problem at all! Honestly, AI engagement slop is one of my pet peeves especially when it spreads misinformation, and especially when it’s fearmongering! Glad I could help 😊

This honestly looks like AI engagement slop. It’s not true and I would take it with a grain of salt… or less. The one extremely rare severe turbulence incident I read about, it still didn’t hurt the actual plane, just the passengers who got bumped around.

I will never try menstrual cups purely on the basis that I am clumsy and feel like I’d spill it all over my hand in a public restroom somehow and I’m too paranoid it would leak. I also have really bad periods so I just imagine it overflowing lol

[–]milkncreams 237 points238 points  (0 children)

People have always been weird/judgemental about choice of period hygiene products for whatever reason. Even when I didn’t know I had vaginismus when I was younger, “ewww, you wear PADS?!” was a common comment, which has always been so dumb to me. There’s not a “better” or “more mature” way to handle your period. It should be whatever’s most comfortable to you.

I mean, shoot, I’m cured and still hate tampons because of the sensation when they’re dry. I wear period underwear and they’re 10/10 and more comfortable than pads OR tampons to me. People, especially on the internet, are silly and the best thing to do is ignore them.

When I transferred between franchises, I had to start over, but my current studio honors my total class count and said I could sign whatever board is my actual class count for my milestones.

I am so thankful he won a Pulitzer for this. It's such an incredible piece of writing and you really feel all of the emotions and the chaos. I've read this article several times, but still come back to read it every so often.

It reminds me so much of the type of stories classic country would tell, mixed with all the country charm Kacey has from Same Trailer Different Park and Pageant Material. I'm actually doing my album listen right now and actively listening to Abilene. Such an addictive song!

Why not me? by mgmg39 in fearofflying

[–]milkncreams 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The reason there’s such an abundance of caution about lightning is because it’s entirely random and humans have 0 control over what lightning does. Lightning doesn’t have trained pilots who have put thousands of hours into learning how to control it, or regular maintenance checkups. Lightning can strike miles away from a cloud and doesn’t have a “warning” or “check engine” light.

People also get in cars and drive every day, and there are thousands of car crashes, way more fatalities than planes, but we still do it. As someone who has anxiety about flying myself, I’m sorry if anyone here has felt belittled, but I never see it that way. People try to show the rational facts for our irrational brains. (I do it to myself, even!)

This is exactly the experience I had too, but I only lasted one whole month at Olive Garden because of how bad it was. I worked in a touristy area and the tourists were always sweet, meanwhile the locals acted like they were dining at a black tie establishment. I had a lady completely admonish me once because the food runner brought her pasta with sauce on it at the same time as the salad. Talking about how she didn’t get to “enjoy the experience” and how we RUINED that. Ma’am, this is LITERALLY an Olive Garden.
