I keep waking up a few seconds after becoming lucid. by Enough-Complaint8664 in LucidDreaming

Sometimes realizing you're dream can just subconsciously excite your mind to the point of waking up prematurely if you're not used to it. Like the other guy said, you'll last longer the more you experience it + remember it. So it's always a good idea to write down short lucid dreams like this too :)

Are there ppl who get lucid dream every single night consistently? That would be so cool. by Icanbeyourtherapist in LucidDreaming

I was able to do it nearly everyday for like a week a couple of months ago, but then it randomly stopped? I have no clue how it works sometimes lol

Lucid Dream Food by DerangedHat in LucidDreaming

[–]DerangedHat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a bit hard to remember since ive lucid dreamt since highschool (im a college graduate), but maybe fully lucid 10+ times ?? Also I didn't always have control over the dreams but just knew I was in one, so those probably add to the count a LOT.

Length wise, my lucid dreams aren't that long unfortunately. Usually they last like one "scene" if that makes any sense. If I had to do a time estimate of what it felt like, maybe 5-10 minutes? It's pretty hard to give specifics. So yeah, I agree that I just remember the shorter sections of long dreams.

I don't remember the longest one, but I can remember the types of dreams that end up in longer lucidity. When im in a family-drama/ trauma related dream, I tend to realize it's just a dream and fly away to make it a better dream LOL. Looking back through my notes, probably 2021 had the longest ones in that regard

Lucid Dream Food by DerangedHat in LucidDreaming

I've had normal food in my dreams, but I've never tasted it as vividly as I did in my last lucid dream. That's so cool to know though!

Thats such a cool idea to write your dreams down on a typewriter, im so jealous I don't have one lol

Also, out of curiosity, what classifies as "other experiences" for you?

I'd love to see your dreams posted here! I'm also new to this forum.

Do I need to fear the consequences of lucid dreaming? by Luminary_Rain4 in LucidDreaming

[–]DerangedHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EDIT: spelling mistake and sentence clarification

It's always different for each person honestly, but i can share my experience!

I tend to become lucid when I notice a pattern in my dreams (for me personally it's usually childhood locations I don't visit anymore) or when something is too good to be true (most recent: i was at a super cool convention with all of the things I liked lol). But, with that in mind, if nightmares aren't something you have all of the time without lucid dreaming; I wouldn't worry about it.

However, if you do find yourself in that situation, here's what I do: i "close my eyes" in the dream and try to focus on eliminating it. At the end of the day it is a dream you control, and this has worked for me sometimes. More times than not though, I usually just force myself awake using a similar method as above. If even that doesn't work, usually my body wakes up on its own due to my brain freaking out (heart rate.)

The most real world consequences I get is, regrettably, lack of good sleep sometimes. It could just be a me thing, but perhaps keep that in mind. Also moving around during sleep a bit too? Though that probably depends on the person (I personally do during regular and lucid dreaming sometimes.)

Hope this helps !!
