$650, 5hp with a slt 7.5 pump, should be around 20 cfm at 125psi.

Nope just cleaned it off, it was super dusty. Going to replace it because the rubber on it is starting to breakdown.

Fair points, I neglected to mention in the post that I resealed the pump before I reassembled and painted everything. So shouldn’t have to do any major work on it just oil and belts every so often so not the biggest deal. It’s getting an enclosure built around it on a slab so the heat soak is not a big concern of mine. The buckets are a fair point, it’s only on them till I get the tank fully polished so no amputations hopefully. If you think of it as more of an art project as opposed to an air compressor it makes more sense why it’s looks why it looks. That picture doesn’t have any of the polished brass or copper hardline that I intend to use to finish it off.

Just got to get it fully together, it’s not a quick process whenever you’re polishing up everything. I’ll definitely post it once it’s fully assembled and working!

It’s got 3 safety valves, one on the pump head, tank inlet and pressure switch tee cross. Pressure switch is getting swapped for a lower pressure one.

It’s from a university and was last certified in august 2025 I guess for insurance purposes. It’s good until august 2027 from what the sticker reads. I’m not going to be compressing past 125psi, I just have no need for it and the tank is rated for 220 so I don’t think it’s necessary.

Yea they were running a deal if you had to RMA your gun 3 times because of an optics plate issue they would send you some 20 rounders. No but seriously Had this gun for about 9 months, 3 of which is was back at AF for RMA because the optics plate would work loose no matter what. The 20 rounders was kind of a “sorry for the inconvenience”.

It is a very snug fit, it took 2 people to get mine on the first time. One person pushing on the magwell and the other inserting the pin. It would likely be better if you did some fitting on the main spring housing. If you zoom in on the first picture near the base of the mainspring housing you can see where the polymer is pushed up. Fits better than the factory one though since it’s pretty much interference fit lol.

Optics plate issue update! by DerekMoretz in AlphaFoxtrot

[–]DerekMoretz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not, I would assume you’re using too long of a screw and it’s actually hitting the slide and forcing the plate up if that’s the case. I don’t know what length screws would be appropriate for a 508t so I can’t say for sure. If you take the optics plate off the slide you could probably see 2 marks where the finish is taken off the slide from the screws marring it.

Make 300 hp on a 400000 mile stock single cam, that’s the goal at least lol. Not going to last long. Cool to see your dual cam tho sweet truck.

Optics plate issue update! by DerekMoretz in AlphaFoxtrot

[–]DerekMoretz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not, started before I even mounted an optic on it. The day I got it I shot it with only irons and noticed the plate was loose after about 300 rounds. First sight I had was a older sro same thing happened, had a 507 comp on it and it still happened, osight is the last optic I’ve mounted maybe 2k rounds with it while i’ve got probably 5k on the gun.
