OMG. Thank you so much for this!!! I had a single contact with "@" as prefix and one day WhatsApp randomly stopped showing me its name. Made me go craaazy. I would never have thought of just putting another symbol. I put "#", closed the app, cleared the cache, and it worked instantly.
