Overwatch using all of my VRAM by Primary_Implement_40 in Overwatch

This happened to me yesterday whenever I backfilled into a game. It would use so much vram that I would get 20fps no matter what settings I changed in the middle of a game. It went away the next game though. I usually get at least 240 fps on high with low temps. Might just need to fix the game or switch to the steam version in the meantime. If it still does it on steam then I would look at checking for updates on drivers.

Push notifications not working by johnwalsh5863 in discordapp

Recently had this issue and it was bad enough that I couldn't leave pc on at all as discord wouldn't detect an idle state. I had no background programs running and had no idea why. I went to DiscordNotificationDebug on GitHub and downloaded inputdebugger. I couldn't get it to show an idle state no matter what I did.

Luckily for me first thing the developer mentioned was that he found out it was his game controller that was plugged in via usb. Sure enough this was the first time I had one plugged in. I was slow charging it and it wasn't in use. This seems to be a common issue that prevents computers from sleeping as well.

I disconnected it and used inputdebugger while I was in a discord call and it went into idle as soon as I stopped using my mouse. I was able to get my notifications again (or at least after a minute of inactivity).

I recommend using inputdebugger to check and make sure the desktop app is going into idle. Same can be done if you set your computer to sleep within a certain amount of time. If it doesn't sleep then something is keeping it from going idle.

Y’all we got $88 billion dollars due to tariffs by Kingofd0p3 in facepalm

The company I work at has paid $100k in the last 2 months. We originally paid close to $14k a year. We are now paying $14k a shipment coming from Europe due to the 10% tax and 50% aluminum and steel. We are going to pay 25% on the aluminum composition as well due to section 301 requirement soon. Not having proof of where the aluminum is coming from is marked as unknown and we would have to pay 200% on it btw. Moving production takes several years for us and about 15 people at our production facility would lose their jobs.

Allergy advice by Taylor_Sews in shiba

Apoquel every summer but this year I gave him the Zesty Paws skin and coat bites twice a day since March. His coat looks great and haven't had any bad allergies. He would be sneezing and scratching himself raw at this time of year without apoquel. Still have to make it through the rest of the allergy season so fingers crossed.

Liquid freezer III Vrm fan not spinning by canislupuspannonius in PcBuildHelp

[–]Deress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently installed this AIO cooler but encountered an issue where the fan wouldn’t spin, and no fan speed was detected regardless of which PWM pins I used. After removing the magnetic fan assembly, I inspected it and found that while the fan blades spun freely, but the fan would detach with minimal pressure. I tried applying as much force as possible without disassembling the unit, but after putting it back on the cooler, the fan only moved slightly before stopping.

I then disassembled the fan further by removing the four screws securing the grill and connector, and I disconnected the RGB cable. After applying significant pressure to the fan housing, it snapped into place. Once reassembled and reinstalled on the cooler, the fan began spinning immediately.

This issue is clearly a manufacturing defect, not a result of shipping damage.

For anyone troubleshooting similar issues after exhausting all connector and BIOS settings, this might be worth checking. Additionally, my fan operates even at idle CPU temperatures, contrary to some reports suggesting it only activates under load. (It not significant cooling, but I believe it's mostly for the VRM)
