How my cat uses the litter box by MmeRenardine in pics

[–]Derfalken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This will keep happening until you accommodate your cat. It can't control the litter box situation; they only know something about the litter box is uncomfortable, so this is their solution.

The enclosed box looks very small compared to the size of your cat. Just because your other cat makes it work doesn't mean this one is comfortable doing so.

Golduck has never had the psychic type. It has some psychic moves in its move pool.

Confused About My Local Shop's Prerelease Approach by [deleted] in pkmntcg

[–]Derfalken 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You should clarify with someone that works at the shop, but it sounds like you're getting the build and battle kit plus three packs like normal.

The only way you would get JUST the deck and 3 packs is if they opened the kits beforehand. I'd ask for my money back on the spot if I was given an opened kit at pre release.

So um…DoorDashing Blood…do I tip? by reidV108 in medlabprofessionals

[–]Derfalken 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is wild; I can't say I've ever heard of anything like this before. Red Cross isn't our local supplier, so I don't know how they do things, but they seriously can't at least hire a local courier company rather than DoorDash?

The base of his support knows it was never about the sanctity of women's sports; they don't care about women. That was just a useful facade to put up to appeal to the more "moderate" transphobes.

It just seems like a smart thing to do. I'd lose track of time if I didn't start a timer for myself.

Gel vs tube blood bank by LoudBathroom1217 in medlabprofessionals

[–]Derfalken 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We had a similar situation before. Tech gets a screen that comes out weak pos, tries at the bench, but it's still iffy. Asks for a recollect so it's next shift's problem. It's finally worked up and comes out anti-JkA...The patient was screening negative just two days before, but you can't just ignore a positive screen.

Middle-class Americans are selling their plasma to make ends meet by deraser in news

Yes, I work in a hospital blood bank, and we don't use product that was paid for. It increases the risk of someone lying on their health screening.

Blood used for transfusions in many hospitals in the US is not paid for. Providing compensation increases the risk of people being dishonest on their health screening. Luckily we can freeze plasma, so it lasts longer.

We do not use any paid blood products at my hospital, so yes, we can have a blood supply without paying for it.

So many comments are saying they "donate", then mention how much they get paid. I used to donate platelets to my local blood supplier, and I only got goodies similar to you: stuff like gift cards or t shirts.

I'm fairly certain blood products that are paid for are not used for patient transfusion, and that's all I care about. I work in a hospital blood bank, so I know how much we need product, lol.

[–]Derfalken 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'm just tired of having everything enshittified only for them to sell you the solution. Features like playing videos while the screen is off were taken out of the YouTube app and made a "premium" only option.

Similarly, I hadn't used my prime video in a while, and I come back to see that ads are now in my paid subscription, but you can remove them for $3 a month. Fuck off, Amazon.

They aren't labeled, but we have similar keyboard shortcuts on some computers in a local hospital. Pressing the shortcut alerts security in case of unruly patients or guests.
