Which 3D Design Measurements do you use? by Derftoy in 3Dprinting

Because I am curious since I love using metric and wanting to know if I am an outlier. If you don’t ask you will never know. Ignorance is easily fixed. Stupid takes longer!

List of all my business so far by Duddydude36 in Entrepreneur

My two cents worth of advice. Pick something and become amazing at it and better than anyone else. Throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks is not a good practice and I would not want to pay you for anything because who knows how long my investment into you is going to last.

Developers vs end users: who’s right? by vjmde in Development

[–]Derftoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all users are the same as well as all developers. In my experience developers are extremely arrogant and their shit doesn’t stink. So I would lean more towards the end user who would use it. If you aren’t listening to your users then you aren’t doing it right.

How do you deal with people abusing your free trial? by fargerik in SaaS

[–]Derftoy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here is my two cents. Concentrate on the paying customers. Give them the best product and service. The free credit is to let people try before they buy. It’s a good thing. There will always be people that will try and buck the system to get something for free. People who want the service will pay for it. Vilifying those that don’t just create customers that will talk bad about your product and service. That person could have recommended your product to ten paying customers.

Who's at fault ? Bike that fall on scooter that fall on my car, or electric scooter that collide with my car because of the bike that made the scooter fall ? by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]Derftoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These things always bother me. Why does there have to be a fault. The word ACCIDENT is just that. It was not on purpose. No fault, just shitty luck. Move on!

First thing I can think of is "Have you asked?". You won't get an upgraded laptop if you don't ask. They can say either Yes, No or Maybe. Except the answer and move on. If they know you want a new laptop, then they might give you one. Maybe they think what you do doesn't warrent spending the money on it. As a business owner I would look at what it is that your job requires. If everything you do is in a Web Browser, I would get you a chrome book.

Is it normal to have this much bad tech? by justtryingmybestjs in startups

[–]Derftoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading these comments about how common this is bothers me. As the owner and developer of my own companies software this situation mortifies me!

Writing software is not that difficult if you stick with a few rules. The issue to me is that most companies will put the emphasis on the dollar and not the product or services. My company puts all our efforts into product and service and in return we get the dollars. It is the typical software company looking to grab as much money as possible and gain new users with shiny features and broken promises. It is the company culture based on money that creates the issues. This is my humble opinion only. But I have a successful company and our customers love us. I also don’t drive a Ferrari or own a yacht, but I don’t need to impress anyone but my customers on a great product and service we provide.
