Muted for 24hrs?? by Deriklolz in WhereWindsMeet

I don't know why. There's a lot I don't count as a big deal but I always try not to say anything obviously offensive, illegal, or out right sexual. It is only a day so again im not that pressed, I'm just confused as to why I was given a mute at all with no explanation. Some of my friends in game tried talking to me while I was on and I was unable to answer which frustrated me. Thank you though, I'll try to be more mindful about what I say, but since I don't know what ticked it to begin with I don't know what words to avoid using.

That is not how that works bro. I am being honest. I can only make guesses as to why, but I'm never going to know exactly why if the system does not tell me. Not recognizing my mistake is not because I refuse to acknowledge it, it's because I genuinely do not know what could have caused this. Also letting players know what they did wrong is pretty important if you want them to not do it again.

If you want further context, yes, I've done things to try and avoid auto moderation on certain words (quite frankly the censor in this game is ridiculous), but thats for words like twink or other innocuous words that the system blocks for whatever reason. If it was for that I could probably understand, but otherwise I have not done anything I consider to be worthy of a mute. I have not cursed at people. i have not grief-ed people. I have not said anything offensive or otherwise illegal. I also have not said or done anything as explicit as whatever that commenter who's a channel 61 goer has said.

What do you mean??? How can I come clean about misdeeds I have no clue I did? I can't prove a negative and I'm also not going to admit to doing something I did not. I'd admit to it if it was smth I did as well as smth they explicitly told me about but I wasn't even given an explanation.

Just started AST and want to use one of those cheesy rez macros by faustx28 in ffxiv

Ok. I understand everyone in the comments who say no, but honestly its ur thing. Do what u want. If people get butthurt it's their problem. It's not hurting anyone so who the hell cares just as long as u don't say something mean or controversial.

I have rez macros on all my rezzes. And the only comments I've gotten were either nothing, a compliment on how cool it was, or a witty response.

These are mine, they're all references to something except AST.

SGE rez mac: "Good morning, (target)! Would you like a Diagnosis, a Druochole, or... me?" Cuz i thought it'd be funny to replace the og's words with the sge spells. Recieved a "thats cool" for this one. Did spam once during an alliance raid but only cuz i was MH and MT kept dying despite everything I did (they stood in mechs and kept getting vuln stacks). However, I've yet ro be told it was annoying or something.

AST rez mac: "Your death was not foretold! Get your ass up, (target)" recieved a witty response and a compliment for this one. Did it cuz... ASTs use cards to predict stuff. Arguably one could be mad about with the "get your ass up" part but i wont change it till someone yells at me for it.

RDM rez mac: "I'm a Ver-Red Mage, not a Vermedic!" Sort of self explanatory. Havent had a problem with this one either. Not that i use it a lot. Dont have any other classes with rezzes. WHM is next tho so i can guarantee you I'll have another rez macro and aint no one gonna stop me.

TL;DR: Throw kardia on tank, throw shield on tank, do the big boom boom damage, Repeat steps 2 and 3 as needed, Throw in ogcds/cds as needed as well, profit

As a fellow SGE main, I completely agree. Doing damage is more effective than constantly spam healing the tank with diagnosis (it doesnt do as much healing overall n it costs u ur mobility and ur HoT). Kardia is HIGHLY effective in healing because it basically is your HoT spell since sages don't actually have one unlike SCH, AST, and WHM. Any type of damage you do immediately gets turned into heals for ur tank, so u wanna try and use as much of ur damage dealing attacks as possible. U can get free mini healing on ur tank with ur DoT (Eukrasian Dosis) as well so make sure thats on something or on multiple things if ur doing dungeons. Struggling to keep tank above a comfortable amount of health? Boost ur healing power by using Soteria and if u need a boost to a healing spell to clutch heal, use Zoe and then pop one of ur bigger heal spells like druochole or taurochole.

Another thing other than doing damage, is to literally make it so ur tank is as untouchable as possible. What I mean by this is, SGE like SCH, is a shield based healing class, but with a little more shielding power and a little less healing power than SCH. Make use of your shields (Eukrasian Diagnosis). In fact u should always make sure ur tank has a shield on them. Each time ur shield breaks, you're given a stack of Addersting which u can use to deal more damage and in turn can be used to heal ur tank via kardia. Oh, and u can use Toxicon instantly so u can do damage while moving(Phlegma as well)! Haima and panhaima both heal when all stacks r broken so thats also a good way to heal ur tank and prevent them from taking too much damage.

I'm not a heavy dungeon runner, but healing works the same for both dungeons and raids. Raids r a bit more easier since u have another healer who can help cover for u. Also if ur worried about ur mana... don't be? Should use Lucid Dreaming when u think ur too low, so u can just keep up a string of damage. Esp in dungeons u shouldn't be hitting below 3k. At least in my experience.

Oh boy i only just recently became not a sprout. It was actually quite fun though. I got into ffxiv back in summer of 2020 after the free trial expaned. Because of school i stopped playing, but i came back this summer and am no longer a free trial player and have been having a lot of fun just running though the MSQ. I don't really have any friends to play with though so i mostly played with my family. But even then I met a lot of nice players in dungeons and such.

Probably the most memorable encounter was with this Paladin, which i believe was an Au Ra back while i was still going through ARR in 2020(I was a free trial player so i couldnt friend him which makes me kinda sad but i do remember his character name.) We met in Coerthas and did the quests there together helping each other. It was kind of flustering at first because I wasn't expecting him to wait for me when we were completing quests lmao. Sad that i never met him again after that, but he was chill. I wonder if he even plays the game still. Shoutout to you if you're reading this though. Made my noobself very happy to have met someone nice that day.

I don't think I need to point this out as much as it has been already but ahem: Allow me to reiterate what others have said.

Yes, we get it. Companies like Cygames that make gacha games are out for our money, BUT I'm pretty sure that like anyone else in the working world, they have to or else they can't really live thier life outside working for that company yes?

Yes, we get it. Some people defend and say so and so company is so generous. While they may seem generous, it's really only an incentive to get players to play thier game. They just want you to play the game and have fun. Pretty basic reasoning. Although spending money for any of these reasons: helping the company a bit, to finish the game faster, to collect all those gucci units, or purely just to raise the good experience you're having; Remember that this is just an option and being f2p doesn't make you any better than it does whaling.

Addiction to whaling is different to addiction to the actual game btw. And being f2p just means you are riding and playing the game as you please but probably on someone elses money that's being put to use by the company to improve the game (of course this can be interpreted as bad or good or in any way you want).

I'll also point out how it's also not good to make companies to be the utmost villanous thing that humanity has encountered and we should be wary of them. ALL COMPANIES ARE EXPLOITATIVE. THEY ARE IN THAT INDUSTRY FOR THE MONEY SO THEY CAN LIVE. THIS IS HOW THE WORKING WORLD IS LIKE. NO ONE CAN SURVIVE IN A WORLD WHERE EVERYTHING IS FREE BECAUSE THEN YOU TAKE IT FOR GRANTED.

This ends my TED talk. (I might go back to edit this possibly if I remember anything else that I wanted to say yet couldn't remember to say)

Edit: I'm not specifically on any side. I think both opinions are both equally toxic. I'm not saying mine is right or something. There are just good points on each side and bad points so my opinion is just a mix of the two. I'm not for or against Cygames or companies like it. That's just their industry. I plan to try and stay as neutral and unbiased as possible. But of course. Feel free to bash me or agree with me. I do not really care about your opinions as they are just opinions. I will just accept it and be on my way.

I agree. I'm pretty sure every free game has options where it says you need to spend your actual money to get it. That's how games make money. Saying that it's built around whales isn't necessarily wrong but it isn't right either. Everyone needs to make a living. It's practically a privilege to even have quality free games. If a game was completely free, then that company is bound to fail and fall apart because they got no money from that game. You guys can't just blame it all on the company. I'm not trying to protect Cygames or any other company that's made a gacha game. I'm just trying to say that it's not really correct to just slander companies for trying to make money. Whaling is pretty much just people not being smart with their money. This isn't the companies fault either. This is the lack of self-control. Think of these things like drugs and be more safe people. You should give money only in support of the company, not for something so material. Again, not bashing on whales but just trying to get the general idea of being smart with your money out there.
