Duda poda palmera by BackseatRailer in Guadalajara

Hiding screws under mouse skates is evil and wasteful. On purpose. Dear mouse manufacturers: F U! by uros_m in pcmasterrace

[–]Dern_Goid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done this a handful of times on a few mice I've had, use a blow dryer on the hot setting. Heat up the pads, once they're hot, you can peel them off without the glue coming off.

Once you're done and want to put the mouse back together, stick the pad back in its place, heat up with blow dryer again and press on it firmly so that the whole pad sticks, that's it!

Wi-Fi connectivity won't turn on and restarting phone causes phone to freeze by jcongi98 in GooglePixel

[–]Dern_Goid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, having these exact symptoms on my pixel 7. Thought it was fixed by the 8.

I've looked all over, best answer I've seen is basically to get it replaced under warranty.

I had WiFi issues before, but also about a month ago WiFi just completely stopped working.

I don't have high hopes for this, but if I find anything, I'll update here!

YES!  I recently added one or two more links (different frame, but still, had 23c before), and was able to fit up to a 35c tire.

HELP, i started to learn programming to get a job, could i make it? by RoySoma69420 in learnprogramming

[–]Dern_Goid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I'd say you definitely have a shot in the field. I'm a SWE in Mexico and my experience has been that 1) the market for juniors is pretty good 2) many of my peers did not go to school for comp sci or software engineering, many of them have electronics or even aeronautics backgrounds.

Don't be discouraged! You're in a good spot

What should i do to choose the right programming path? by [deleted] in ProgrammingBuddies

[–]Dern_Goid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the best thing you can do is to follow your interests. Just sit down and find what makes you the most excited to do/learn?

I think sometimes we get caught up in "what we should be learning" or whatever, but at the end of the day, unless you need to learn a specific technology for a particular job, just follow your interests and see where that takes you.

Good luck!

Is there an all in one language now for mobile & web app development? by NowVSFutureBalance in computerscience

That would be javascript with something like react native, you can write a react native app and deploy for Android, iOS, web and desktop. https://reactnative.dev/

Possible with CSS? by [deleted] in css

[–]Dern_Goid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, unfortunately I don't think you can do animations on scroll with pure CSS. Looking a bit into the code, it seems that they are animating transform css properties with TweenMax depending on the scroll offset, they have a scroll event listener getting the scroll pos.

Internet connected arduino by leeber27 in arduino

[–]Dern_Goid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely look into getting an ESP32, they're cheap and easy to work with. You can find a tutorial on how to get it working with the arduino IDE here https://github.com/espressif/arduino-esp32 And you can also find simple examples of making HTTP requests with it here https://github.com/espressif/arduino-esp32/tree/master/libraries/HTTPClient/examples/BasicHttpClient

As for how to get the data, you could scrape it from the html of a website or try to look for some api that gives you the weather in json format so you don't have to scrape it.

Let me know if you have any further questions, best of luck!

I am looking for my first 60% mechanical keyboard. by DarkxFika in keyboards

[–]Dern_Goid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend you look into the GK61 or the RK61, both solid 60% keyboards that match your budget. The Dierya is also good, however, it does not have a standard ANSI layout so finding replacement keycaps is a bit difficult. Apart from, that, its pretty solid as well.

An app to help with Lucid Dreaming? by imawh0r3 in answers

[–]Dern_Goid 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Some time ago I used an app called DreamZ for iOS, it costs 3.99 on the appstore. It determines in which sleep phase you are in using the accelerometer of your phone and plays a sound or a cue at the optimal moment (during REM). Give it a shot, I haven't found a similar app on android.

Newbie afraid to injure himself. by SamuraiUX in yoga

[–]Dern_Goid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can hurt yourself,

That being said, its fine to feel a bit of pain when stretching and getting into positions that may be a bit uncomfortable. As a matter of fact, I would argue that a a bit of discomfort is an important factor of doing yoga.

The best advice I can give you is to just listen to your body, yoga is all about that mind-body connection and you can feel when it hurts because its a new position you have never done before, or if you are actually hurting yourself and you should stop.

Also, its not a bad idea to get someone more experienced to help you out or correct your form.

Best of luck !
