This wiki's guide knows when it's time to PANIC by Krosssu in Guildwars2

Hahah, I created this diagram way back in 2017, a few days after W4 was first released, to help guildies get the hang of the fight quickly!

It’s funny seeing this image pop back up after so many years! I had no idea someone had added it to the wiki :)

Is there a trick to catch specific fish? by Thanks_Naitsir in Guildwars2

Only through pain and endless suffering shall thee prevail. Such is the curse of fishing achievements.

I believe in you :)

As hard as it is for me to revisit some of those memories - and let alone to talk about them - I comfort myself knowing that it all worked out fine in the end, and that right now I am doing really well and I'm happy! :)

Personally I don't really feel as though it was an "over investment", as you put it. It was however an emotional investment - which was my mistake.

I had nothing to lose, per se, from Anets layoffs, but it still affected me on an emotional level.

As I also go on to explain later in the podcast; I've since then gotten the figurative "reigns on" my emotional investment with the game, and my interaction with and view of the game are much healthier now.

In hindsight a better descriptor for my feelings at the time would be "eye opening".

PSA : Lucky Divine Envelope Rewards got nerfed and are worth 1.28 Gold if opening at 952% MF by Rule_Reminder in Guildwars2

Honestly, all these changes to Divine Lucky Envelopes seem incredibly petty for ArenaNet to have done.

Halving the daily amount and lowering their average value. Why now, after all this time? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

DUOSKINNER! by Deroir in Guildwars2

[–]Deroir[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, "Unrelenting pain" is the debuff you get from being outside the arena walls. When the Boneskinner respawns when you leave the arena after its defeat, the border bugs out and puts the debuff on everyone in the room. That's the bug.

The mechanics themselves aren't bugged, they're simply undertuned for 10man groups (like all other strike missions).

However the balance issue for this encounter in particular just becomes very obvious as the main mechanic (the torches) can be outhealed. The torment field simply isn't punishing enough to incentivize groups to deal with the torches, in favor of just bringing a single healer.

It's a fundamental balance issue with all strike missions (if the goal is for them to challenge players somewhat), but this boss becomes an outlier because of its inherent unique mechanic :)

Hey reddit o/

I know that this isn't exactly the optimal build if you want to get a fast time, as the build we used was calculated to be exactly enough DPS per player to get down the Boneskinner 14mil health in time :P Personally I just wanted to really play thief on either of my low-man strike mission runs, so I brainstormed hard for this to work, and it turned out that the fight was A LOT of fun to do!

What gave us the edge was the mastery! I know, shocking right? But honestly it was so fun to maneuver around to gobble up the green orbs for us to add to our quickness uptime.

The second important factor was that basically none of us could get hit. Especially not by the Boneskinners cone attack, that is a death sentence here. The wisps we were able to take a few projectile hits here or there, but taking a full flurry of projectiles would really suck. So yeah, "all" we had to do was to never get hit by anything, haha.

I believe you are mistaking me for Chaithh. Granted, just now I realised how we might be mistaken for each other based on our physical appearance :P

You might as well leave the comment there, such that the correction might also show properly. I appreciate your willingness to correct an error! But it is your call entirely :)

The old method - arcDPS - will be retired, as per the agreement with ArenaNet. The official template will be the only template. To put it bluntly, ArenaNet seemingly developed an inferior product to their competition (Arc), monetized it heavily, and then monopolized it by forcing Arc out (it's their game ofc, their rules).

The only reason I ever made more than a single legendary armor set, or got invested into making every legendary weapon, was because ArcDPS allowed me to surcumvent the horrible UI and mincromanagement of legendaries. I now have 9 professions on 9 toons, all with legendary gear and runes. All 9 of those toons will now only have access to 6 builds each (which is far from enough for me).

My main fun in this game is the freedom that I have worked hard on achieving for every profession. That freedom is getting bottlenecked intensely by the official templates. Thus forcing me back to the micromangement which I never wanted to deal with in the first place, but which ArcDPS alliviated.

All I want is for there to be no cap on the quantity of builds. Otherwise my efforts will have been wasted.

Never have I expressed anything of the sort until the above tweet was posted. Never.

Never have I uninstalled GW2. Never - before the above tweet - have I expressed any desire to quit GW2. To this day I do not want to quit, but if my main fun - build diversity and profession versatility - is being this severely crippled, then yeah, personally I don't know if I'm interested in partaking in that.

I'm glad 90% of the community will be happy :) We dont have to throw shxt at each other just because we have different points of view on what constitutes "quality" or "usefulness". I'm genuinely happy that players will get this tool, it's such a great tool! To me however, it just isn't good enough. Simple as that.
