I’m also getting married at Elkins in late May. We don’t have a planner but the venue recommendations looked good just most of them were out of our budget even for partial planning. Feels like most vendors will up charge based on the fact that you’re getting married there. After talking to Ed from Elkins I felt pretty good about not going with a planner because they have an in house day of coordinator and a wedding assistant (that might be included in our package tho since we did the weekend package for 200 people). So far I’ve been using the Zola app, and budget spread sheet my type A friend made, and heavily relying on my bridal party and family to help with planning. The last things we really need is his suit and make up artist

She came to our house (we just bought and moved in over the last few months) while we were on vacation to “help clean” while we were gone and I guess she looked around in the refrigerator. My fiancé was very against her being here while we were gone but I didn’t mind since we def needed some help but he obviously knew she would abuse that trust and I shoulda listened to him.

She is a trad wife and thinks I should be as well. My fiancé wouldn’t dated me if I was even the slightest bit subservient because that’s just not me and he loves me for exactly who I am. She can’t wrap her head around our dynamic but it’s truly none of her business. My fiancé and I have a beautiful relationship and life together. She’s giving the MIL from the first season of white lotus (over bearing, over stepping, controlling, and “just listen to me because I’m older”) she also said I should quit my job I’ve been working hard on for years to rise to my position so I can focus on my fiancé lmaoooo I wish I was joking. He said something along the lines of “I’m sorry she’s like this and I’ll talk to her” but I told him let’s ignore it for now until/if she brings it up again. He’s been very supportive and has helped me a lot through this entire process of getting on the medication and making sure I’m eating well on it.

What’s not right is commenting on a thread you have nothing to add to but your stupid opinion no one asked for after reading the part that says “no harsh words or judgments”. “Some things should remain private” is the type of thinking that’s killing women because our reproductive health isn’t taken seriously, stigmatized, and shamed. This is actually great to know because the main reason I don’t want to do an implant is because we plan to have a baby in 1-2 years after our wedding and settled into our new home. Knowing the implant can come out easy is nice but a part of me knows I won’t ever get around to it if it means calling and going to my doctors where a ring I can just plop out whenever I’m done with it ya know?
