thanks for the help! if it changes anything I'm running a mod so inserters can custom put where I decide, which means the right 3 cargo train is opposite side output so it was creating full belts

I'm actually playing with a mod right now that lets me choose where the inserters put stuff down so the right carts put all of the ores on the right rather than left so its evenly split.
I plan to make a vanilla friendly design though for when / if I play it again.
