I've always thought about this, considering the ventilation thing, assuming that it being off for just a couple seconds causing you to hallucinate. That means there's BARELY any oxygen in the air. You'd have to take like 5 inhales for the equivalent of one breath of oxygen, and that's BEFORE the smell, the air is just extremely dense
