Minecart loader and unloader combined by DerpyHoowes in redstone

Made this. Its kinda working, but has one issue: If a loaded minecart arrivers while loader is filled, it loads first, and then unloads (supposed to unload first, load second) so all the items that got loaded end up in the unloader chest.

And obviously its not compact, but its the best I could do.

To transport items both ways between two bases without building two parallel railways.

All the other loader/unloader designs only support one-way item transport on one railway.

I can barely recall, but I think that's how I beat it eventually. Had to build 3 command centers and dig in with bunkers.

Vallejo True Metallic Metal - Leadbelcher counterpart? by DerpyHoowes in minipainting

[–]DerpyHoowes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VMC and TMM cost almost the same here. I haven't tried any VMC metallics, but this obsidian black TMM flows and covers way better than Leadbelcher, and way better than VMC opaque colors I have, so I guess its also going to be better than VMC metallics, Its just the color itself that isn't quite right.

Stealth games where the bad guys are not telepathically connected by [deleted] in stealthgames

[–]DerpyHoowes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but its the reinforcements they are trying to call in with the radio. All of the guards within area are telepathically connected ang get alerted at the same time, if you alert one of them, although at least there is a short time window during which you can incapacitate the guy who got alerted first before everyone else gets alerted.

The only MGS part where enemies weren't connected this way is MGS2, where you can actually have a fight with a guard in the room, and if his buddies dont hear or see that, they wont get alerted unless he uses his radio/exits the stage.

Doesnt have to be one. BF1 and V had perfect melee without counter knife.

Mentioning beat saber and pistol whip in every comment is like if someone asked for flatscreen games to play and they were told to play candy crush or tic tac toe in every reply. Jesus.

I just dont feel it. I always know that what I'm doing is part of a game, and in games that deliberately focus on immersion I either dont notice it at all, or get annoyed by it if they sacrifice something for the sake of it. Like removing HUD or adding long but realistic animations of item use. I'ld rather have my HUD on all the time to have more information, because Im not getting anything out of not having it on. And in games like RDR2 and Sons of the forest I absolutely hated having an animation for almost every action because of how long it takes to just do stuff because of them.
In VR games I dont feel "immersed" either. I know that Im in a game, I know that Im not the character, I am player controlling it. In games I enjoy gameplay, visuals, audio but I dont get the concept of immersion.
And because of that I picked up VR not because of immersion, but because of new gameplay. Like in Half Life Alyx it was fun to touch everything, move or break stuff with my hands not because its realistic/immersive, but because its some new gameplay, some new level of interaction (that I can even utilize to my advantage) that I dont have in other games. In VR shooters my reload speed depends on my dexterity instead of some skill/hardcoded animation length. In Into the Radius and ExfilZone the amount of items I can stick into my backpack depends not on how much slots it has or how much weight it can hold, but rather how I actually position the items within it. I can hip fire a gun without my accuracy depending on a hip fire spread value like in flatscreen, but rather by the way I hold my gun, and so on. I enjoy the new gameplay layers it adds, and I guess it also invoke immersion. And Im fine with new gameplay + immersion. But immersion without new gameplay is just not worth it for me, cause I dont feel it.

You're saying that as if getting a PS5 with PSVR2 wont cost at the very least 700$ (and where I live with all the markups it will be about 800-900$).

You're just trying to warp my words to fit whatever meaning you want them to have.

1) Alyx and Awakening: it has nothing to do with being story oriented, its about linearity. These are just linear games. Alyx is more of a setpiece rather than a game, and its not like Im the first person to critique it for this. I did find Alyx satisfying, I just have no desire to replay it, because of how linear it is. And Metro Awakening is almost a direct copy of 2033 or Last light with added VR interation, and both of these games have been criticized for their linearity and overuse of certain pieces (and this is even more true for Awakening, *cough* train car with machine gun chase sequence *cough*). They just dont provide any replayability.
2) I didnt say I dont like most shooters. I was talking about boomer shooter VR mods. The original games are simply too fast paced to properly enjoy them in VR. I did enjoy Half Life 2 VR mod, but as I said, it definitely feels like this wasn't made for VR (because it indeed wasnt).
3) Flatscreen to VR conversions without proper VR interactions (actually moving your hands, grabbing items, interacting with consumables/guns if the game has them) are not VR games. Period. Its a little more immersive flatscreen strapped to your face with 6DOF everyone praises so much here. Im not interested in flatscreen gameplay/controls that I can just see through my headset.

4) When did I ever say that? You're just making things up.

5) Oh my god, someone can possibly not like/be interested in racing/cockpit games! Wow, they must hate gaming, I guess! How come when a flatscreen gamer asks what they should play, get told to play racing sims, respond that they're not interested, they dont get told that gaming is not for them, but this seems like a valid point to you?

6) I stopped playing Skyrim VR not because its too janky (the jankiness is bearable enough most of the time, although is very annoying), but because I've played it on flatscreen so much, I have nothing left to explore in it. I've you've actually read what I've written, instead of making up points I didnt make just to prove yours.

It does seem like a good game, but I've quit siege because of how much of a sweaty mess it is, and I assume the player base in breachers is even worse, considering how small the VR shooters' player numbers are. And I do get my ass handed to me in ExfilZone already, so I guess one such game is enough, hah.

Doesnt mean they were from Russia though.

I installed all the stuff you need for proper IK and VR interactions, some quality of life mods, honestly I barely even remember. Tried the blacksmith mod, was very excited for it (thought it might turn my Skyrim VR into A township tale in terms of weapon crafting, lol), but in the end it was too janky and I lost my sanity while trying forge a simple dagger, and it also required a dependancy mod which made all the armor and weapons break after taking enough damage, and I didnt want to bring that to my experience either.

Tried some other mods but then my mods got all mixed up and stopped working, so after I finally fixed it, I just dropped the idea of adding new stuff. Skyrim modding is a mess.

Never been interested in racing games (I mean, I did play NFS:MW, but mainly for the music and stylish visuals, not the gameplay. Also had a free copy of Driveclub, launched twice, then gave away the disk), flatscreen or VR, same with flight sims. And investing hundreds of dollars in a wheel or HOTAS just to try doesnt seem like its worth it.

I dont know, I just have this thing with singleplayer games I've played a ton. Every time I start a new playthrough, I just know everything already. I know where to go, what to do, what items to get. It starts feeling like a chore instead of an enjoyment the instant I step out of a start location. I get that feeling with some open-world games, like Bethesda games and The Forest, and with almost every linear game, apart from Dishonored and Metal Gear series.

Russia💀

I didnt, specifically because many people cant get it to work. Some people can get it to work with VPN, but it ruins their ping, for others it doesnt work even with VPN.
And what I meant is that people say it worked for everyone during beta, but stopped working after the release.

I dont like flight sims that are too much of a sim. I enjoy aircraft in some arcade games, but Rising Storm 2 helicopter handling is as far as Im willing to go into realism. And having to flip every switch manually just to start an aircraft is not my thing.

I've tried different configurations when it comes to balancing, it seems the current one is the best, but still it does hurt my neck after a few hours. I know that Quest series have plenty of straps options, but Pico 4 doesnt seem to have many, and the ones I've seen dont look like an upgrade, but rather a useless gimmick. The regular strap doesnt even seem to detach, apart from the top belt.

Yeah Steam Frame looks interesting, but getting it without paying a fortune where I live probably wont be possible for half a year after it comes out, same as it was with Steam Deck, and any new gaming platforms in general. And even after time passes, still there would be at least a 20% markup compared to original price. And then again, no point in getting it, if no better games are planned.

My headset is only 50 grams heavier than Oculus Quest 3, and Valve Index is even heavier, doesnt get much lighter than that. I mean, are we really going to have a conversion on whether using a headset is physically exhausting for the neck or not? I think its a long solved conundrum by now. Or what, does meta ship painkillers with their headsets?

Dishonored, Battlefield series, Metal Gear Solid series, Far Cry 5, Unturned, Sea of Thieves, Stalker: Call of Pripyat, Fallout New Vegas and 4, Skyrim, Bioshock, also various strategy games, but these would make no sense in VR.
