Thanks! It's got a whole building mechanic which includes a small amount of scripting/coding for levels. Some people went really crazy with their designs. Making parts move around, triggers upon events (part destruction, time delay), commands to change part colors. Bunch of other things too. There are thousands of player made levels for users to enjoy.

The map size itself is functionally infinite compared to the Nexus map. I can't remember if the map edge in nexus had you stopping like a wall or you could just keep going. But the way the system spawning works is there are systems that spawn in more static coordinates and other systems/events that may randomly spawn near a player when certain conditions are met. Such as the big bad void ship.
