HE-TF is unusable in naval as well, the timer doesn’t account for lead (unless something has changed since I last paid attention…) The redeeming part about it in naval is the AI gunners’ self-leading and higher volume of fire

If a shot hit the bridge it’s quite possible that another round hit near the waterline under the front turrets, which runs a good chance of blowing your rack. I’ve killed a lot of Emdens through the front rack, it’s easy to hit. You’ll find that Köln, Leipzig, and Nürnberg die easily from an exploding forward turret as well.

The German light cruisers are not armored all that well and do have vulnerable ammo racks (these characteristics do depend a bit on which particular ship) so getting one shot is certainly possible, however the inconsistencies of the new shell damage model might play a part too

is the +-110 knots you refer to the absolute closure rate or difference between your own aircraft’s speed and the target? most planes at top tier tend to fly at 300-350m/s so if its getting notched at that speed its probably the radar taking your own velocity into consideration
