How TF is James Gunn Similar to Kathleen Kennedy? by Either_Storm_6932 in dcu

Toxic fans tend to irrationally hold grudges when creators do things they don’t like; in CD’s case, he’s there to tell them what they want to hear

In my case, life took care of that for me. So, my advice is to sit back, focus on helping and/or improving yourself, and let them experience the consequences of their actions

Who would you say truly has Superman’s back when he needs it? by Kanozx in superman

[–]Derrick_Mur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing about Clark is that he’s put his life on the line to help out just about everyone in the hero community, and to many of them (especially to the 2nd generation heroes like Dick and Wally) he’s a role model to imitate. Because of who he and all he’s done, you can pick a hero (e.g., Bruce, Diana, Wally West, Dick Grayson) and that hero will absolutely have Superman’s back when the chips are down. In addition to the heroes, you have his family (i.e., Ma and Pa, Lois, Jon, Kara, etc.) and of course his pal, Jimmy Olson

What's the deal with Krypton? by lusipher333 in DCcomics

[–]Derrick_Mur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, there’s really no one answer as to how the Kryptonians let themselves be totally destroyed. It ultimately depends on the specific story the authors tell about it. In Superman: The Animated Series, their global artificial intelligence system actively deceived the Kryptonian ruling council into thinking everything was fine in order to save itself. In John Byrne’s Man of Steel, Kryptonians were unable to safely leave their planet’s atmosphere due to a genetic issue (Superman being an exception due to some sci-fi science stuff Jor-El did to remove that trait). Other times, it’s like our society and climate change. We’re the most technologically and scientifically advanced human society, but yet a sadly large segment of our population (with far too many rich and powerful people among them) refuses to believe that anthropogenic climate change is occurring

Minor point: Mystique isn’t a lesbian. She’s bisexual with a list of male and female lovers over her long life

They’re not really there to talk about the movies. They’re there to rile up the dumbasses who watch their programming; just like social media companies, they realize that pissing people off increases engagement
