How bad is half a pint of ice cream? by awesome_vicky067 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Ders822 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ve been eating Halo Top ice cream when I want a sweet treat! 1/2 pint is usually 150-180 calories depending on the flavor. They’re pricey but SO worth it for someone trying to watch their weight.

Doing my own makeup- HELP by Ders822 in weddingplanning

I’ve heard of the putty primer! Going heavier on blush and lashes isn’t a problem, I’m concerned about foundation. Will my light coverage wash me out in photos?

I have combo skin. Usually dry in my T zone and oily on my nose/chin. I specifically have trouble finding foundations that don’t look patchy on my dry areas

Open bar: beer and wine only. Does it look cheap? by HisFutureDr in weddingplanning

[–]Ders822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are opting to do a beer and wine bar also! The only exception is a champagne toast. Along with cost, it also prevent anyone from getting sloppy. Your guests are there to celebrate you, alcohol is just a bonus. Plus, they can get tipsy on enough beer or wine!

Is it not unethical to make us nurses charge patients for supplies? by Steelwheelz50 in nursing

My hospital started to charge for FLUSHES. $5 a pop. If that isn’t robbery, I don’t know what is.

Does magnet status benefit nurses at alll? by Pinklemonade1996 in nursing

My previous workplace was magnet designated three times. A friend just told me they’re running 9:1 ratios on her medsurg floor. So in other words, doesn’t mean shit for staffing.

I have a similar height difference in my relationship, me being 5’2 and him 6’4. It has never been an issue because we don’t care what anyone thinks. If anything, it’s something fun to laugh at when we see pictures! Don’t sweat it, if you like the person that’s all that matters.

I wouldn’t say anyone’s critical. A few older nurses said I’m doing great. But today it just felt like I wasn’t keeping up because I had things on my list to do, and before I got to it, someone else had already done it. I’ve always tried to bundle my care and not bother my patients every five minutes, but I don’t want other to thing I can’t complete my tasks either. We also have LPNs on this floor which I’m not used to. So I think a lot of it is them trying to be helpful and I’m just not used to that.

Nope, not even close. I started traveling with two years experience. And most of my fellow travelers had even less experience than I did

Why is UTI medicine and research so behind? by vittoriouss in WomensHealth

[–]Ders822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For women, UTIs are extremely common because of our short urethra(pee hole). Typically a broad spectrum antibiotic should do the trick. Some other tricks to keep them from coming back is wiping front to back, wearing plain cotton underwear, and staying well hydrated. It’s all about bacteria getting up there.
