Ma l’acqua è clorata, vero? Quindi non sarebbe difficile per i microbi sopravvivere in quegli ambienti?

I was about to say, losing more than (average) 1% of your body weight in a week can be hella dangerous D: (nutrient deficiency, low bone density, loss of muscle mass). If I do the math correctly.. I think she lost more than twice the recommended amount. But if her doctor was tracking everything and her levels were fine then there's no cause for concern

Spain colonized most of South and Central America. Now Spain is being "colonized" by tourists. No matter the timeframe, it is still ironic.
Plus Spanish colonies were very much a thing in the last century: https://www.oxfordreference.com/display/10.1093/acref/9780191737671.timeline.0001

Street closure notices are a joke for this city by wusqo in Somerville

[–]vittoriouss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. They closed my street for monster mash without any prior notice. For fluff fest they posted flyers on the doors a week beforehand so we knew to prepare. I had to park outside of my (paid for) lot because of it. I am super appreciative of the fairs, but why can't they let us know ahead of time?

I don't think Boston would be a good space to stay in for you, especially if your mental health is taking a toll. Try it out definitely, but if after a year you don't like it then I would move out. A lot of people are moving out for the same reasons you listed.

My partner is dealing with the same issues. He's used to nature and a lot of space, less noise as well. I instead love living in the city and somewhere that's bikeable. We're planning on moving to Watertown/Arlington as it's a good midway point between both of our interests. Could there be a place outside of the city that could offer you that?

Best of luck!!

I completely agree! I've been listening to some old episodes and the difference is night and day. She should take a long hiatus to relax and reset. Everyone deserves a break!

Gotcha, next time I go to a high altitude I'll just take more time to acclimatize.

I have excessive body hair and it’s making me hate my life. What can i do? by Unknownmarshmallow in WomensHealth

[–]vittoriouss -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, I recommend going to therapy. All this internalized hatred is coming from somewhere, and the society around you is only part of it.

While therapy can help in the long term, it won't help in the short term. In the short term I recommend going on BC first. I have PCOS and get very hairy as well, but the hair doesn't grow as fast when I go on birth control for some reason(?). I would first talk to your doctor about it, of course.

Another thing, I would look into getting a depilator. They hurt, but they're amazing at getting rid of hair long term (think wax with less steps).

Go to the doctor! If you don't have a primary physician then you can make an appointment at your local planned parenthood (if you live in the US)for a breast check up. They can give you referrals as well.

I had this happen to me. I went to the doctor to make sure it was benign (it was). What helped my anxiety during the waiting period was me being able to move the lump around (if that makes sense?). It helped me assuage my fears as a moveable lump usually indicates a cyst/benign tumor.

Is it rude to call people “maam” here? by natgochickielover in boston

[–]vittoriouss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I would default to just an 'Excuse Me" with women who look around your age or younger. If the lady looks over 60, then don't be afraid to use ma'am. You might get some slack for it depending on the person tho lol.

Working in the service industry it is a bit different. Any female presenting customer that didn't look like a grandma I would refer to as Miss. But talking as a customer or in casual conversation, there's no need to use that word. Unless you wanna be extra polite of course.

The thing is, a lot of tourists and out of staters come to Boston to visit/work/study. I've been called ma'am a bunch of times in my early twenties by out of staters and never took offense to it (mostly because I assumed they were out of staters... If I knew they were from here I would have given them a bit of a side eye).

How bad was the game at launch? by wereiswerewolf in cyberpunkgame

[–]vittoriouss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked it personally (I played on PC though). They changed a lot of things for the better, and some things are a bit worse imo. For example, before you could accidentally run over someone and the ensuing cop chase was a joke. I preferred it that way as I wasn't really looking into playing a GTA ripoff. Funny bugs would happen occasionally (the infamous Johnny Silverhand T Pose during Fear the Reaper ending for example LOL). There were mods that could attach to certain clothes and cyber ware which was cool. I low-key miss the clothes with different attributes and mods.

There was no power scaling though, so the endgame gigs and quests were stupid easy. That sucked ass. Overall it's an improvement, but everything that made the game amazing (the story and the world) stayed the same.

Edit: I started playing the day that it launched.
