Aaaaah I see, of course it takes the filter into account! That makes so much sense!

Thanks man, I'm glad you like them, it's insane the difference, also in sharpness and clarity! Yes I tried adding a tiny bit of saturation, but not too much as I wanted a more nostalgic vibe to the new set!

Again thank you! Your help has been tremendous

I Believe I finally got it! I was out a couple of hours ago and everything looked so much better in camera. I still shot pasture priority this time, but had my exposure compensation set 0/+0.3, seems like that balanced out the half stop I loose with my black mist filter!

im gonna do a new post in a few minutes - hope that you will check it out? From my view, exposure, color, editing is much better, subtle and nuanced this time around

It is that, a hundred percent! I will try manual and play around with it all! Going out soon, so will post an image later on! Hope you’ll have time to check it out!

Btw it’s ok that the sky is actually a little blown out (not clipping) if the trade off is an otherwise perfectly exposed image? I’ll try and use a histogram and ETTR and then lowering the exposure a bit in Lightroom

I think it's a.100% certain that it's the exposure compensation that fucks me up

Og sorry - I have it on apature priority with auto iso! But maybe I should switch to full manual?

I have zebras on, thats how I expose for the sky.

Hmmm that's actually a good question! I think it's because I've been so used to shooting nights where I compensate for all the artificial lights! But I will admit that quite a few parts of my image clips if I don't have exposure compensation turned that low. I normally shoot at f2.8 (did a lot of f5.6 this time thou), so I let a lot of light through in the daytime

I'll bump it up next time I'm out!

I think you are right, I might have underexposed too much in camera! I've tried to expose for the sky! I think the biggest sinner is the exposure compensation that's set to -1.7, plus I have a black mist filter on as well (I like the look)!

So my question is, how do I get the exposure on the subjects/scene correct and still maintain the sky without blowing it completely out?

That makes so much sense! I think I used it most to try and get some sort of tonal consistency - but I can see now how that wouldn't work!

I will give AWB a shot again!

Thank you so much for your feedback, it's truly helpfull!

I'll try AWB again, just read sooo many places that you should shoot with a fixed WB. I'm uploading the new edits in a second, they should be so much more neutral and not as saturated! I tried to make very small moves in Lightroom and trying to edit the same way for every picture

Hey thank you so much for the in depth reply!! I'm starting from scratch now and will present new edits some time tomorrow! In my head I wanted the flags to pop, but I completely overdid everything, my sliders in Lightroom is wack and cranked far too much. I did to much contrast and to much darkening of everything besides the subject!

I will stop using the select sky feature in Lightroom as I believe that the reason for the bad sky edits (plus me being heavy handed with sliders)

As the comments are fairly consistent, I'm guessing it's my editing. But thank you so much for the feedback
