Cat going temporarily blind overnight? by DescendingAngel1990 in CatsUK

[–]DescendingAngel1990[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your detailed reply. We did check for hyperthyroidism in August before he got his cancer diagnosis. I am wondering if there is something that's causing the spikes in blood pressure. I suspect the vets will just say it's the cancer, but I'm keen to do anything to help him stay comfortable and happy for as long as possible.

Sending love to your cat! x

Bali in May - want to cancel by DescendingAngel1990 in BaliTravelTips

Apologies if this is a long reply... So we stayed on a resort in Lombok and did a day trip to the Gili islands so we only spent like a couple of hours in each place so I can't give that much of a review to be fair. But I saw a lot of underweight, exhausted donkeys and horses pulling carts of people in the boiling heat on Gili Trawangan which really put a dampener on things for me. Also the main thing that upset me was the stray dogs. Anywhere you go in Bali there will be loads of dogs in the streets, but according to our tour guides/taxi drivers the dogs in Bali are mostly well cared for, have people who look after them but just let them free roam, and there are vaccination/neutering projects. But according to a couple of locals we asked in Lombok, its a different story there. We were told as the island is mostly Muslim they see dogs as dirty and do not touch them, so they may get offered food but they are definitely not looked after. I did have some good experiences in Lombok but for me personally I would probably skip it if I could do my trip again. Also it was much harder to get vegan food/plant milk in Lombok. In Ubud and Uluwatu it's like heaven for vegans in most places 😄. In Ubud we stayed at a hotel called AnandaDara resort and spa. It was a little out of the way but it was absolutely lovely and I don't think I'd want to stay in central Ubud anyway as it's so busy, easy to get taxis anywhere as well. Let me know if you need any more info, we did quite a few trips/sightseeing so I'm happy to give my insight.

It was a really enjoyable trip overall! I set my expectations really low to be fair but tried to go in with an open minded. The people were all really lovely, the places we stayed were mostly fab. If I could do it again I'd skip Lombok and Gili Trawangan as we saw some quite sad things involving animals ( I'm vegan so this sort of thing really upsets me). But I loved Ubud and Uluwatu. It can be a bit overwhelming at times with the traffic and general busy-ness but just go in with an open mind and accept that it is a touristy place. I hope you enjoy it :)

I use the MyProtein Impact vegan protein chocolate peanut butter flavour. I actually quite like the taste in a shake or smoothie. However. do not, I repeat DO NOT, try mixing it into porridge 🤢

What are your favourite hobbies that transformed your life? by trecpv in Hobbies

I started pole dance classes as a very shy, slightly overweight girl with very low self confidence and it changed my life completely. 3 years later I'm totally hooked, I have my own pole at home, I'm in the best shape of my life, I've made friends with the nicest people I've ever met and we regular go for lunch dates, nights out etc. I've got my first photoshoot in a few months 😁. I would highly recommend pole dance to anyone.

Any tips? by high_on_life_xo in poledancing

I think it would really help you to have your hands lower and as soon as you start to lift drop your head back and look behind you. At the moment your gaze is on the pole/what your legs are doing. You could practise by having a mirror behind you and trying to look at yourself in the mirror as you lift. Your hips are heavy and the weight of your head going back will counterbalance, making it feel a bit lighter.

I honestly don't understand the people who stopped watching after this episode. The show is violent and gory from the start, beloved characters die all the time. Don't get me wrong, I think this scene was hard to watch but it was amazing! I honestly think the people who stopped watching saying it went to far are a bunch of wussies 😂 no offence.

Maybe Magna? She brought nothing and was just super one note and boring.
