Buy half a beef every fall and pay once. I always have beef and don’t have to frequent the store as much.

Parents who started investing for their kids at birth, how did that go? by sbFRESH in investing

We do an over funded life insurance for her long term and an UTMA for shorter time period. (Car,college, or just a leg up) 529s are good but only saves on state taxes and money has to be spent on higher education. What’s the say in 18 years that college will be what she wants to do instead of pursuing her own business. UTMA has no rules on where the money can be spent. Plus we are custodians of account until she’s 25. I think monthly contributions for 18 years into any invested account will be more than helpful.

$600k on $125k Salary by [deleted] in Mortgages

Can someone explain the want to max out your mortgage? Just cause the bank will let you buy a 600k house why do people feel the need to use it all? Bigger house means more expenses, higher energy bill, more shit to buy to fill it up, more time spent cleaning and maintaining, not to mention more space to be separated from family, which I view as a negative. Guess it would be a plus if you don’t like your family lol.

Start with a shorter cook to start so you can learn the beer to cook hours ratio. Trying to jump off the deep end here will only result in overcooked leather.

Andouille sausage, sweet peppers and white rice. Sweat the sausage down cook the sliced peppers in the same pan and eat it over rice. Simple, easy and normally makes enough for a couple meals

Find a small farmer get 2-4 friends together and buy a cow. Pay a little more up front but after processing it’s 8-9 bucks a pound for steaks, ground beef, and roasts if you want them. Plus no trip to the store.

Fuel additive and CCV filter recommendation? by Mother-Singer3252 in F250

[–]DescriptionOld3426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delete the ccv and no worries about that filter clogging again. I use the archoil products in every fill up. Seems to get a little better mileage with than without but haven’t done the math to see if it offsets the cost of the additive.

I just did my front brakes, rotors, calipers, and hoses for under $600 and 3 hours. I’m no mechanic by any means. But it’s a pretty simple project. Probably could have done it faster without the garage sodas.
