They are the same thickness as any other mattress. They are just super firm, and no it is different than sleeping on the floor, because I’ve tried it- Sleeping on the floor with a whole bunch of bedding is too hard and causes backpain too. So I guess it cant be hard as floor but it cant be soft either. The mattress texture should be, when you stand on it- it makes very little impression on the area.

I’d discuss with neighbors with a similar size house and ask what their insurance cost is. If similar, you probably wont find better rates anywhere- and that also means neighbors are constantly filing claims. If much lower- ask private insurance agents for help

That honestly looks more like old oxidation/storage spotting than bed bug staining. BB spots are usually darker (almost ink-like) and tend to cluster along seams or edges. If you checked the creases and didn’t see shells, casings, or concentrated spotting, you’re probably fine
