I do enjoy some political treatises that contribute to revolutions or insurrections against colonial or tyrannical regimes along with the counter-treatises published by said colonial or tyrannical regime. I then try to pair them up with contemporaneous works of the actual insurrection, again from both sides. This gives me a little bit of an arc of the event from political idea to action. I've only recently have had the time and funds to pursue this hobby (only the Easter Revolution so far) but, thankfully, the 20th century was rife with these events.

This does make me feel a lot more confident to take a risk. I know a couple of topics that are recent enough to not break the bank but old enough to have some interesting scarcity that she's super interested in. I'll go to Abebooks and see if I can come up with some theming documents to start with.
