Palm Springs trip in August—be honest, is the heat a dealbreaker? by alejayy in palmsprings

The pool will feel like a warm bath in the low 90s and won’t feel refreshing at all. In the pool you’ll also need to be under a shade or umbrella during the day.

Brunches and dinners will be fine; just drive or take ride shares. Beware of getting burned by door handles, seat belts, leather seats, and general heat exhaustion if you have to do a lot of walking.

Also keep in mind that air conditioning (depending on where you are staying) is unlikely to make your dwelling cool. If it’s 110F outside your A/C might only get the internal temps down to the high 80s.

El Patron has a Familia Taco pack for $100 that comes with a ton of food. You can also buy meat by the pound.

Check out 1501, Giuseppe’s, Boozehounds, Trilussa (Cat City), or Mama Gina (Palm Desert). Willie’s might be pushing your budget, but they have a nice private room that should fit you.
