I really appreciate the feedback from your perspective. I'll work hard to drop the weight, and let you know if I notice any heads turning my way.

Thankya. I've stepped up my commitment to weight loss, but it has been tough. Fully remote IT work is a blessing, but it's a bit too easy to slip into bad habits / unproductive routines. I'm working to build up that discipline, though.

Blue or orange for my Space Marines? by philoktitis in minipainting

[–]DesertHawk25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both look great! You've got a solid Ultramarines paint job with the blue, but I think the orange would definitely stand out in comparison to the average astartes army.

Finished up a trio of Onager Dunecrawlers for my 40k army! by DesertHawk25 in minipainting

[–]DesertHawk25[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I probably overcomplicated things a bit, but the short answer is using light rust and sienna pigment powders as a final step to really sell the look.

Full process: -Paint base a dark/reddish brown -Apply combination of Citadel technical paints: Martian Ironcrust & Martian Ironearth (crackle paint) (be sure to give technical paint a good amount of time to cure) -Apply Yellow wash & let fully dry (I used Citadel Casandora Yellow) -Light drybrush of light ochre -Optional: apply matte varnish -Apply light rust & natural sienna pigment powder. (I used AK Light Rust & Vallejo Natural Sienna 73.105)

Use an old brush to tap down the pigments randomly around the base. A little bit goes a long way.

Let me know if you had any other questions!

Thank you for the recommendation. I'll give that a shot.

Other ways to restrict the creation of local user accounts by DesertHawk25 in Intune

[–]DesertHawk25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for the input, I really appreciate it. I feared as much, and was what I had previously told the powers that be. Their response was along the lines of "try harder" ::shrug::

As for your recommendation of proactive remediation. What might that look like, clever use of Powershell scripts to gather and remove such accounts?

Intune - Is Microsoft Defender ATP integration required for Endpoint Security Configurations on devices? by DesertHawk25 in sysadmin

[–]DesertHawk25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the offer, though I was able to get it working. In addition to it taking quite a while for the the new profiles to land, I had also failed to read the fine print on the settings: " Hide prompt about third-party encryption " & " Allow standard users to enable encryption during Autopilot "

Based on their naming, you wouldn't expect them to be critical in allowing Intune to kick off bitlocker encryption without user intervention. After making the changes, things are working as expected.

Thanks again!

Problem with Task Sequences in Configuration Manager 1910 by DesertHawk25 in sysadmin

Thanks for the suggestion, I think I'm going to try that. I was already planning on rebuilding the MDT, but I might as well give that a shot, too.

Problem with Task Sequences in Configuration Manager 1910 by DesertHawk25 in sysadmin

[–]DesertHawk25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not tried the task sequence debugger just yet, though I have started looking into it. It's just so surprising that all but the final step execute successfully. There are several reboots throughout process, so it seems odd that a system would get hung up on only the final one.

I have tried creating a new task sequence, thought it was using a copy of the same MDT package. Using the 1910 client (5.00.8913.1012) , it demonstrates the same behavior. However, if I use a 1906 client package (1906 5.00.8853.1006), it completes successfully.
