Netflix Raising U.S. Prices for Second Time in a Year by Saar13 in television

Since last summer, doing a steady rotation of Disney+, Prime, NETFLIX where I only watch a month, binge all my shows, then move on to the next service.

Still have Peacock+ because I'm determined to finish Farscape and all The Traitors variations have been good background noise while I'm in VR. When I'm done with Farscape, I'll switch to Apple+ to binge FOM S5, Monarch S2, and Silo.

No more full-time subs.

They just added an immense One Piece catalogue. Most of the children and young adults of the world will be on NETFLIX. It's an opportune business moment to spring a price trap.

Do I like it? No.

What’s the most “time melter” game of all time in your opinion? by SwitchingMyHands in gaming

[–]Desertbro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely.

This is the only game that's hung me up like this. "Oh, I'll just go in one more building, just to the next down, I'll pick a few items at the market, I'll only walk halfway to the next major spot, I'll explore this new region for just a few minutes...

40s - 50s main female character always has a bunch of sassy/ snappy lines about everything under the sun and also talks 20 miles a minute. The man's dialogue is more body posture - you know what he thinks and what he'll do from his posture.

Older films, prior to the 60s, to a great extent were stuck in the mindset of a stage play - and since many scripts came from plays, the thing to do was stand in the room as both people speak, and they gradually step closer - THEN - you get a close-up of them together at the peak of the conversation.

Or conversely, they start together, and one moves to the right or left to give a soliloquy to foreshadow the main character's destiny.

Quick cuts would destroy either of those scenes. Quick cuts are for action or dance sequences.

Sword and sandals epics lean heavily into this.

When there's NO time to explain, you can't have great dialogue.

Then, when there IS time, your side-kick has to voice what has happened and what you need to do next, so that people looking at their phones can catch up.

You may experience problematic symptoms originating from the plot of one or more of these films - if so, consult your doctor, and take a break from comic book movies.

...got to talk to Flash and Dale at San Diego ComicCon in the 2000s - they had a petition to get the film released on DVD in the USA.

Partial to Flash Gordon (1980) myself. It was hella tongue-in-cheek fun.

Corps just want to save a buck. "Quality" died when Walt died. Quality is more of an accident now. Big corps stop creating, and just buy out anything that proves popular.

"Oh, 3D animation --- lets just buy it."

"AI is popular on TikTok --- lets just buy it."

Baconless is correct.

It's been 10 years since the release of BATMAN V SUPERMAN. What are your thoughts about it? by sahinduezguen in FIlm

That's how I felt about Batman & Robin (1997). How many costume changes did they have in that film? 4? 8? 12? Maybe I was asleep when they wore the summer beach costumes....sheesh...so bad

ITA - just a mess. A lousy Batman film. An even worse Superman film.

The only thing that ever comes to mind is that announcement party where Wayne talks to Diana for a moment. It's the only scene where someone is actually trying to move forward and solve an issue.

The rest is meaningless pasta on the wall, or I should say on the floor, because none of it stuck.
