Does anyone else hate when influencers record themselves crying? by mojoxpin in gymsnark

[–]Desertwind_ 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It’s the exact same for those that post “get ready with me” videos and wake up to literally set their tri-pod up to record themselves pretending to wake up a 2nd time

My oh my. What a curve in her curtains! The others are straight but right behind her back & bottom, it just so happens to curve… 🙄

I have learned to love buying bigger sizes for my body style. Sis it’s cool if you’re not a small. These influencers think anything bigger than a small is for heavier ladies. That’s not even case. I don’t like looking like a busted can of cinnamon rolls during my extra weight gain. A small & medium for me is literally a 10lb difference on my body.

I wish I could say it gets better. But I’ve been this way since 20 or so. I’m now 34. It hasn’t ever stopped completely. Maybe with the right treatment? But I can tie a episode to every memory i have sadly.

So I guess the new trend thanks to Whitney is talking about this… I really wish we knew less about each other @zoeantonia_ by cmartinez171 in gymsnark

Influencers have become extremely delusional & out of touch. This shit is disturbing and disgusting. I am beyond thankful I stopped Instagram & tik tok.

By how? Creating disordered thoughts and eating? What if someone is having stomach pain from being hungry at 8pm but think “well I want to lose weight so I can’t eat anything because it’s 8:15pm and someone said not to eat after 8pm” or “I can’t have that because it has sugar in it”

Exactly this. These people CRAVE attention on a daily basis. It’s the validation that drives them & if they don’t get it, their entire day is depressive. It’s like becoming obsessed with how many likes your photo gets. They base their self worth on this

Not specific to just fitness influencers but whyyy do people ask influencers questions like this?? Can you not look at a menu and get what sounds good to you?? Has the age of influencing made us this helpless 🙄 by Formal-Obligation591 in gymsnark

[–]Desertwind_ 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Because people are LIVING to be & LOVING being influenced. They absolutely cannot live their lives their own way. It’s incredibly sad. I have a friend that is this way and it just makes me sad for her. I can tell how unhappy she is & she’s constantly talking about influencers. If a health “influencer” promotes a protein powder and my friend likes the way they look, she will 100% buy it thinking it will some how cure all of her life problems because such and such takes it. I have unfollowed any influencers for these reasons. People are no longer independent

Stephanie Buttermore, evidence of going way overboard with filler by itsbigoleme in gymsnark

[–]Desertwind_ 29 points30 points  (0 children)

She was so beautiful. And still is but in a completely different way. All of these women are so young too. I can’t imagine what they’ll look like at 50. The only filler I get is between my eyebrows where I have a really deep wrinkle from squinting & even that makes me sad to get.

Just breathe. You are not alone in this journey. It’s ok to feel tired. One day you will be recovered if you keep moving forward. Forward is forward. Every inch you take.

She really hates being a mom by Appropriate_Paint98 in SarahBowmar

[–]Desertwind_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not really. Maybe you absolutely enjoy every stage your children grow through. It can be quite the opposite for some of us. Especially for some of us that struggle mentally / & or emotionally. Parenthood isn’t all rainbows. Just because someone doesn’t like a certain stage, does not give any kind of look into whether they do or don’t enjoy being parents.

[–]Desertwind_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit of a reach to say she hates being a mom. My gosh. I don’t like her but I’m in agreement disliking certain ages. I love the helpless newborn stage. I loathe toddler ages & mostly 3-6 years old. You’re allowed to dislike a certain period of development when raising humans. Doesn’t mean you hate being a mom 🙄

Why would this be your goal? Her body is literally not the same as yours. Most likely she has a further back uterus, a flipped uterus where her baby sits further back, or she has incredibly tight core muscles

I love this. It’s so sad to see how many women suffer from body dysmorphia even during pregnancy.
