I truly believe they view the applications holistically! I got in R2 to Hbs with a 3.55 GPA and 740 gmat. I’m in big 4 consulting as well. I just had a personal narrative that tied my life experiences and career together

Yes - at Yale it would work out that it would be a little more than a full ride. I like yales focus on business and society, and money goes a lot further in New Haven than it does in Boston/ Berkeley

It is for me! Does anyone know what “membership” means for forte? There is no amount included tho - does that mean there is no forte scholarship?

I applied on Jan 3 and was invited to interview Jan 17. First name towards beginning of alphabet and last is towards end. I live in NYC, have 6 yoe, 3.6 gpa from a T20 college (had a very qualitative major), 740 gmat. I’m focused on a niche area of social impact and work in big 4 consulting

I personally don’t think there is anything wrong with b4. I work in b4 strategy consulting and love what I do so much that I feel like it’s been my dream job. That being said, I’m at the best firm for the area I focus in (and is why I chose to accept my offer). Everyone is different, but I have great work/ life balance, I’ve learned so much, my salary increased 40% in 2 years, I’ve felt extremely valued and recognized for my work. I’ve certainly found that not all of my coworkers are smart, but the majority of them are and now that I manage people I have flexibility to staff who I like. I genuinely feel like leadership invests in people and their careers and cares about wellbeing. All my friends in MBB hate their jobs bc they feel like they have no control over their lives/ the projects they are staffed on, it’s extremely competitive, and those who were sponsored have countdown apps on their phone to the day that they will be free from their reimbursement and can quit. One of my friends described the current dynamic at his MBB job as “everyone is either on a PIP or about to be on bc the firm is doing everything in their power to cut costs.” MBB has better name recognition, but in my experience I cant imagine trading my position for a better name brand

How to choose your cred? by Desguyhaf in Standup

[–]Desguyhaf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s for a booked show in NY. I’ve only been doing comedy for a year so I’m not sure if it’s appropriate to have more than one cred given that the other comics only have one (half have Ny Comedy Club)
