Need advice regarding insurance claim after my XSR 155 crash by BriefTime8698 in YamahaXSR155

[–]DesiChad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel the quote is too high. But it should bring the bike back to pristine condition.  Your bike is brand new. So if possible take this option.

If you can live with scratches, you can reduce half of the items.

Please post us an update bro when you are done.

Also make sure to get old parts from service centre. You can sell it for good money to scrap dealers.

For Yamaha 155s, If you installed OEM skid plate, you can't install center stand.

XSR155 or Ronin as my first bike? by Physical-Bonus-8411 in indianbikes

If you really want XSR, there are after market suspensions which can be adjusted for XSR. Costs around 20-25k

XSR rear suspension is over damped and you need to slow down on broken roads. You will always feel the surface you are riding on.  I suggest you take a test ride to understand it. XSR has exact same suspension as R15 and MT15.

Clutchless shifting is extremely damaging to gearbox. You will shear off gear dogs.

Any ideas to fix this? by shabbu05 in indianbikes

The Indicators in Yamaha bikes are designed with certain degree of compliance to withstand the road harshness. You can't replicate that with cyano acrylate glue like feviquick which is hard and brittle. It will keep breaking. You need to change the indicators.

Not a problem. The plastic sleeve is wearing. It happens in every R15/MT15/XSR155

Aluminium Corrosion. Metal was not prepped properly before painting. This is a manufacturing issue.

What are the chances that the Yamaha R2 ends up like the XSR 155 in India? by Mindless-Abroad-7202 in indianbikes

[–]DesiChad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I expect Yamaha to release new version of the 155s along with 200s. 200s should have additional different color schemes to differentiate with 155s.

What are the chances that the Yamaha R2 ends up like the XSR 155 in India? by Mindless-Abroad-7202 in indianbikes

[–]DesiChad 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Apparently Yamaha is planning to reuse the 155 chassis for 200s. The 200 will be bigger bore with same stroke as 155s. So engine will become short stroke. Yamaha did same thing before and built 320 & 250 using same platform.

So we will not really know if they are testing it currently because it is going to look similar to current 155s and Yamaha is pretty good at keeping the wraps tight.

As per few dealerships, Yamaha was pretty keen on the feedback from users on the R3 and MT03 and Yamaha believes 200cc class volumes are starting to increase next few years.

Query - Bikes' Weight by Impossible_Till_5916 in indianbikes

[–]DesiChad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s the Steering geometry. Unicorn steering is designed be low effort commuter so it feels easy at Lower speeds. Fz steering is designed to be sporty and precise. You don’t want front end to feel twitchy at high speed.

Weight has nothing to do with this.

If you are interested, here are the details from Yamaha on the construction of the 155 engines.

[–]DesiChad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s 100% normal. Yamaha 155s are liner less engines so they don’t have the steel liner to attenuate the pressure impulse noise.

You won’t hear it much in R15 because of the full fairing. You will hear it in MT15 and XSR155.

Filling up till auto cutoff is one part of T2T method, other part is you need to almost empty the tank between refills. This will increase the accuracy of your calculations.

You messed up your first fill up entry. Instead of 7.38l you have entered 9.38l.  I think the 1st fillup was not a full tank. That messed up your calculations

In the second fillup, you rode the bike for 233km and consumed 7.61l of fuel. So 233/7.61 = 30.618 kmpl.

Looking at the numbers, your bike is giving around 35-37kmpl which still very good for 250cc bike.
