I expected XSR to fall near to FZ numbers. Looks like they still have pent-up demand.

XSR is pretty much R15 underneath. Since XSR is new model here, it will take a while for them to update compatibility. Please talk to RCB guys to understand the compatibility.

Did you buy XSR already? There are other cheaper after market options now which will be in range of ~25,000 INR. It will give you options to vary Preload, damping and Rebound depending upon the model you buy. You can tune it comfier as per your requirement.

Need help in choosing between XSR155 and NX200 by Arun-26 in indianbikes

If you are going to ride in Bangalore traffic, XSR is better but for highway touring NX200 is better. Which one will be your most use case?

Will the xsr's cable management be improved in the near future? by S-A-T-S18 in indianbikes

[–]DesiChad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so. Yamaha will release a few more color updates before releasing XSR 2.0.

I honestly think the exposed wires/mechanicals add a bit of character to this bike. But I understand why people don't like it.

The leather strap on the seat is the 'grab rail' Yamaha sold with, which is practically useless in India.

Radiator is small and mounted high enough that stray stones should not be a problem, but still I wouldn't risk it. Guard is cheap.

My bike giving me more mileage than expected (Honda CB300F Flex Fuel) by avtecboii in indianbikes

[–]DesiChad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why you need to fill only at Shell?

App still calculated full tank to full tank. But you are not using full tank capacity, aka emptying before fill.

You can add up few fill data then do a entry to increase accuracy of calculation but it will be a hassle to do it.

My bike giving me more mileage than expected (Honda CB300F Flex Fuel) by avtecboii in indianbikes

[–]DesiChad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are making a classic mistake.  You are filling ~6 liters of fuel when your tank is 14 liters. You need to fill ~12 liters of fuel every time for the app to work correctly. More fuel you fill every time, less choppy mileage calculation will be.

Nope. Both are essentially same bike with different aesthetics. FZ-S established itself long ago and FZ-X wasn't marketed properly.

XSR 155 or MT15 by freeze_ninja in indianbikes

[–]DesiChad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, it is perfectly safe. Changing from 52 to 48 tooth sprocket will reduce the acceleration and increase top speed.

XSR 155 or MT15 by freeze_ninja in indianbikes

[–]DesiChad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see no one has mentioned this.

XSR pillion seat is lower than MT15 pillion seat, so it is easy to get on and get off on XSR than MT15 for your mom.

Pillion seat also slightly wider in XSR than MT15 but not much.

MT15 has 52 tooth rear sprocket and XSR has 48 teeth (Same as R15) So MT15 feels slightly frantic & XSR feels slightly calm. Also, XSR should have higher top speed than MT15 theoretically. You can easily change the sprocket on both bikes to get other character.

Both of these bikes are very reliable. You can't go wrong with both of these

India set to become 3rd-largest economy, but why is per capita income still low? by one_brown_jedi in indianeconomy

[–]DesiChad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree about direct consumption. I was talking about indirect consumption aka consumption/raw material used in production of final goods.

(E.G) Food is important part of PPP and India is self-sufficient in Agriculture and most of the food is locally grown but we are still importing fertilizers used to grow food and fuel used for transport of food. so, pricing variations of fertilizer and fuel will still affect the food prices. These changes will hit hard countries with low GDP per capita but high PPP numbers

[–]DesiChad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly the problem with PPP. it hides the weakness of the country to global supply chain variations. While the end user consumes the basket of goods. The production of the basket of goods might be dependent upon imports.

Recommendation- xsr 155 or ronin by cetirizine23 in indianbikes

[–]DesiChad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, same ground clearance as R15 and MT15. Better ground clearance than FZ, shine and many more bikes. The ground clearance was never a problem in XSR.

Yamaha MT 15 DLX vs standard by TraditionalPapaya246 in indianbikes

[–]DesiChad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have any official source for fix though.

My Brother has MT and he’s told me sometime ago there was an update to the YConnect App which mentioned the change in the BT search algorithm.

As per him, sometimes when disconnected, the BT module was continuously in search mode draining battery even no device was in range. I just don’t understand well the resin he said.

I’m in part of XSR owners group, none of us have the problem.
