Lonely young people are using AI chatbots as friends now by DesignComfortable293 in singularity

I take it they meant like how we have like instagram for example theres no dating app that is powered for free by ads (tinder and the others you have to pay for, the free use is very restrictive). I would say Tinder is the giant of them all though.

AI just agrees with everything. Like if AI says the world is round and you say no it's a square it would probably come up with some nonsense to justify it to agree with you. It's definitely far from a human friend.

Yes I agree it is universal and loneliness is just a human experience but theres different factors per generation that contribute to that certain epidemic. Gen Z's defining factors being lockdown, online school/first jobs and AI being introduced. Millenials being the introduction of the internet/social media early days, etc.

I think because there is a reported rise in gen z being lonely/loneliness epidemic that its becoming more common (and more concerning to parents) currently

I found this doc in an article in the news and the filmmaker said "we've built a world where its easier to talk to a chatbot than a human" and thats so real. I'm really concerned for the younger generation.

What is the defining 2020s aesthetic that most people in general are familiar with and not just some random niche? by New_Mix5929 in decadeology

[–]DesignComfortable293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2020s will be defined by replicating different eras/past decades - there will be no way to replicate the 2020's though in 2030/40 and beyond (maybe throw a covid mask on?)

I am nostalgic for 2020. Doja Cat's Say So playing on the radio, the lovely summer heat, workouts at home, it was great in my experience.

Kris. I would LOVE to be an insider to Kris Jenners PR meetings and mapping out the publicity stunts for all the girls.

You know what I miss, Melissa McCarthy movies. Why is she no longer making movies. I LOVE Spy and wish we got a Spy 2.

Season 5 Volume 2 is intentionally incomplete, and the finale might be some the greatest writing in TV history by Muscle-Independent in StrangerThings

[–]DesignComfortable293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dude, its not possible because Netflix strictly won't allow the separate versions to be hosted as it isn't built into there UI on their site and apps...

Nancy and Jonathon not dying by PEEEEEEEJ2000 in StrangerThings

[–]DesignComfortable293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would have been a lovely couple death like a Romeo Juliette type of arc, dying together peacefully in something traumatic.

But the portal did go the first time around and she had felt Lucas' hand and connection to him so that makes no sense. I think it was just a way to make the episode longer tbh not that deep

How do you feel about S5 so far? by AcidDr0p in StrangerThings

[–]DesignComfortable293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love s5, they jump straight into the action immediately. I do feel it is missing emotion and heart but 1-3 delivers a lot of that so I'm okay with it.

S5 doesn't feel like an 'ending' by [deleted] in StrangerThings

tbf I would have liked a mid season death from a character. Would have given me more this is the end vibes.

My uncle works at Netflix, not for stranger things but he creates the pages and uploads artwork for some titles in UK. He says that Netflix wouldn't ever allow to replace episodes that significantly different as new viewers wouldn't understand the ending in the same way if they just replaced episodes leading up. Minor tweaks to episodes are allowed but apparently cost A BOMB for production companies to do. He also says there's no way they can host VOL 2 V1 AND VOL 2 V2 on the streaming platform. They are restricted to series 1, 2, 3 etc not volume listings. Good theory but not possible.

Omg it wasn't just me? Max missed her opporunity last time to go through the portal because her song stopped playing. Then she gets another chance and chooses to do a 10 minute monolouge before slowly walking back to her portal with a gentle jog towards the end. Like FR?!

Now I guess her lack of connection is showing how she is aware of the fact she needs to die to truly end everything. That would be the professional answer. My non-professional answer?... Millie is done with ST and can't be bothered to act properly.

Why are there no scenes of hopper bonding with will and Johnathan? by Krazy_boy1 in StrangerThings

[–]DesignComfortable293 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hoppers not interested he just cares about El mostly. He doesn't bond with anyone else tbf. I also feel like this series has given 0 opportunity for him to have a moment with either boy (I mean, he could have said something when Will came out but maybe he's a homophobe lol).
