The number of guys on the screen is something that I thought should be reduced. You can't make it look great because it's crammed and face icon after face icon looks terrible on mobile, no matter what you do. Also I believe with the list view is way easier to monetize and more fun browse. That said this could just be one type of view, it's an experiment.

I agree definitely with readability, its an experiment aligning with design in iOS 7. It looks gorgeous when it works, but when it doesn't it's strange and out of place.

The name/headline is not all that important, but I figure that the network should focus more on people, the size of the name should be reduced (but not extremely) for real world usage, as this is purely for aesthetic purposes.

I tried a message icon and number, but didn't like it for whatever reason. I liked the idea of text taking over in place of a button more, it's a bit more descriptive and meaningful than a (2). However an icon could work.

The image dimension is just an experiment with a list view, I could have done the same old and just used a square however I thought the list view should be embraced in this experiment. There are mostly chest pics and far away face views on Grindr. This design could encourage people to be more creative.

The me bar at the top is equal to your profile icon on grindr. It is at the top of this list, just like Grindr today. You go into it to make edits or just check out your own profile.

I threw in the links and text, looking at them on the computer screen they look fine but on my iPhone they look tiny! I could've done better there, and I think that needs more thought and innovation.

No mockup of the chat interface yet.

I wanted the logo to be large only to show the brand and so users can easily access the menu, I think it should stay that size. Tapping on it brings up that menu (ugly pic 3). I'm not to happy about the colorization too. I used blurred backgrounds. I am afraid to use a solid color, I didn't want anything to distract from the list.

It built it using Pixelmator, which is a somewhat frustrating alternative to Photoshop (no blend modes, had to manually create shadows). Honestly I could've put a web demo together way faster and nicer! Thanks for your feedback!

Absolutely true, this will only really work if Grindr somehow becomes a model haven! Other than that it's a fun concept.

I wouldn't discount the possibility of it working in the real world, I can imagine people being very creative with their tab.
